Broker dependent. Some brokers charge the same as a stock trade. Some charge a line charge. If it is a retail broker, my expectation is that they charge a fee per strike. If it's 1000 contracts or 1 contract it will cost the same. You have to ask.

I don't know what IB does on their TWS platform. I can tell you that some use days to expiration as whole days and some factor in the fraction of a day. Eg, some might always show 2 days left and others might show 1.5 days. Using the fraction of the day is more accurate for your greeks.

In my opinion, the TD TOS platform is better for a beginners. Much easier to use, especially for options and option spreads.

It does not always work that way, but most of the time I expect that part of it. That measure stops back months from getting to high or it creates an arb. It does not stop back months from going lower.

I agree. The deposits at your firm were much higher than others, because most of us were option traders. I think the minimum was $100,000. More than half the option guys in my office were naked option sellers. I would say most did not have money or credit issues. It was just that one guy.

I knew you were in the Chicago office. My credit was perfect. I had no issues but another guy from the Amex that joined at the same time did have issues. His X-wife did a number on him.
