Call tech support at TD Ameritrade. They will walk you through how to back test. Don't jump into an entirely new technology just because you need some help with programming. BTW, don't forget to ask how you qualify for cheaper commissions ($5.00 per trade).

Have you searched yet? Lots of discussion already available. Besides that, try it yourself with a simulation account at IB. You'll find out pretty quick. Posters on ET have been pretty positive about it if you are not scalping.

iancand, be persistent in calling strategydesk for answers. early in the day is best. their support is good, so insist on answers to your questions.

Is a separate PC or separate copy of Cool-Trade required for: multiple accounts at the same broker? accounts at different brokers?

According to its website, Cool-trade requires software to be downloaded to a PC. Software has to be running and connected to the internet (cool-trade website). Are buy and sell orders sent to the broker from the PC or from the Cool-Trade web site?

Download Ninja Trader. It's free for charting and backtesting. You don't need a programmer.
