Has anyone recovered money from stock ligitation lawsuits?

Yes they do. Just wondering does anyone ever receive money from these or do the lawyers get all of the cut mostly?

Has anyone recovered money from stock ligitation lawsuits?

I daytrade but I daytrade several companies that have gone bankrupt. Would I be able to receive compensation from the litigation?

Serious: Last year I turned my account from 25k to 150k. Now my account is down to 90k.

I lost a lot of money in stocks. But the stock market fcked up in one way. It shouldv'e knocked me out when it had the chance. Now it is time for vengeance. Going to get it all back!

Serious: Last year I turned my account from 25k to 150k. Now my account is down to 90k.

Thanks :) I was wondering for you profitable daytraders, do you make money every single day expecting a paycheck, or do you have some major wins that cancel out the bad days? I am like the latter I guess. Some days I will make 30k, and most days I lose 2k here and there right now. For November...

Serious: Last year I turned my account from 25k to 150k. Now my account is down to 90k.

I still will feel horrible because I paid taxes on the 150k and now I have to deduct 3k for 20 years since I am down 60k for the year

Serious: Last year I turned my account from 25k to 150k. Now my account is down to 90k.

I bought 30k shares with an average price of 3.2 on the run up. I got greedy since I thought the stock was way oversold. It hit 3.8 twice and I had a chance to sell both times, but I held and eventually sold at 3.13 average for a $2100 loss. I am still kicking myself because I was up 18k at one...

Serious: Last year I turned my account from 25k to 150k. Now my account is down to 90k.

Yes. My strategy has changed somewhat. First of all, I am going all in and I guess I am getting greedy. My exits are more sloppy now due to larger size. I am buying 100k at once with stocks that have $7 mill volume and the market makers seem to mess with me technically and shake me out. My...

Serious: Last year I turned my account from 25k to 150k. Now my account is down to 90k.

This was all done daytrading stocks. I was always all cash at end of day. When is it time to throw in the towel and quit? By the way, all of this was done via microcap equity stocks. No options. I do not want to be one of the stories where I lose everything. Has anyone gone through this?

Not sure how I can find a specialized accountant. I went to 5 different accountants and they have not been very knowledgeable in this subject

It is a free broker hence the bad support. Does this look like a legitimate error though? They just told me to talk to a tax advisor but my 1099 is around 7k pages since i traded about 40 times a day

This is an equity account. No futures or options. I think it was FIFO

I also want to add all my positions were sold and closed a month before end of the year. All losses have been realized before the 1099 was sent out

Help! An big error was made on my gain/loss but the brokerage does not want to fix it! Attached imag

I did not make 113k last year. My account balance was less than 113k at end of the year so it is obvious a mistake was made. I made around 80k. I called my brokerage several times but they do not want to fix it. I do not want to pay taxes on 113k which I did not make. What can I do?

How does safe harbor work for estimated taxes?

I paid $1600 in taxes for last year. This year I already paid $2900 from my regular job. However I've been daytrading this year and made an additional 30k so far and haven't paid any taxes. Will safe harbor protect me? Does the $2900 income tax from work count as 110% of the previous year?

Serious question: What makes a successful daytrader? Is it consistent daily wins, or more wins?

I also want to add I am trading stock, not options or futures
