    "instant profits"

embrassed? I have seen stuff like "rent our strategies for $50 a mth and achieve financial freedom earning $4k a week instantly!" and "make 500% returns in 3 days by paying $3k for a course!" No matter how dumb it sounds, idiots will always bite. The scary thing is, i have seen many idiots...

Are some markets more profitable (or less risky) to trade than others?

Maybe because u're a high school drop out you have no idea that when trading FX thru a bucketshop you're going up against the bucket + other clients and NOT the "biggest" in the world. 82% of traders fail to make money according to a recent tally with on the Taiwan Stock Exchange. 18%...

    Trading for a Low-Paying Living

You're right I never handled $2mil before. The max i handled was $500,000. :( I wish I have $2mil though. :D Do note that inflation 20 years ago was much more rampant than inflation now. I don't get it. I'm comparing trading with a $2mil account for $50k a year income and keeping the...

Are some markets more profitable (or less risky) to trade than others?

If you stick to regulated exchanges, they're all the same. FX is interesting because u can go for targets of 50 ticks with 50 ticks stops. This is important because of the negative edge the spread has on smaller target trades. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=53586

    The China Bubble

    1) China has been hyped in SE Asia as an emerging economic superpower since about 10 years ago. I wonder if they'll stop emerging 10 years from now. :p 2) China is boom town Charlie because its not saturated by brainy capitalists and filled with 1 billion people we can con. If you mass...

Are some markets more profitable (or less risky) to trade than others?

You got to be kidding. 10 times the liquidity in FX? Yeah, because u're trading directly vs the MM! FX has 1 trillion liquidity but us retails are getting $0 of that since we can't access the interbank market! No commission fee my nazukuu*. The additional fees are added onto the spread. Why...

    Trading for a Low-Paying Living

$80k a year in interest would evaporate into nothing. Imagine using $2mil to generate $50k a year in trading income will do to that account. lol.

    Trading for a Low-Paying Living

$2MIL in those 4% p.a. FDIC insured accounts ($100k insurance per account, u might want to spread the risk) = $80k a year in interest. $80k a year in interest....why trade? Even with $1mil its $40k a year in interest.

    The Market's House Edge! :(

The mathematical definition of a "fair system" is Expectancy = 0. One case of a fair system is a coin flip game (50:50) with 1:1 payout. Approaching any model with the rules of playing in a fair system is a great way to figure out your advantages/handicap without influence by luck/chance...

Living on a boat and avoiding taxes

Trading is taxed under "Trading Income Tax" in Singapore. :( If you rake in like US$30k+ a year or more the max might be about 20% so it might still be a good deal. This law is not strictly enforced but if you definitely don't want to mess with the S'pore Govt! :D

    The Market's House Edge! :(

After much calculating, i find Casinos to have better odds! Casino European Roulette Wheel betting on Black/Red = 18/37 chance to win or 48.65% winners. Casino house edge = (50 - 48.65) + (51.35 - 50) = 2.7% Now for trading. Assume the minimum 1 tick spread, 1:1 risk:reward and...
