If you want to fail as a trader, study TA

There are no supernatural explanations, except in the irrational minds of those disposed to think that way, they simply believe and have faith without wishing to reason themselves or accept reason from others. As a rational person it would be irrational for me to argue a point with someone...

You seem to be predisposed towards spirituality, prefering supernatural explanations instead of physical reasoning. By all means think that way if it gives you comfort. Regards R

I'm not taking sides IB, just stating what I believe. A long time ago I read the following books, which gave me a better understanding how nature operates to perpetuate genes, without regard to individuals: The Selfish Gene, The Blind Watchmaker. I never got round to reading the GOD...

I used to use automatic stops when swing trading UK stocks as the duration of the trades could be anything from a few days to a month or more. I wasn't able to monitor the trades when I was at work so automatic stops were essential to protect myself against a catastrophe. Daytrading US stocks...

Surely it is not illegal for a US citizen to have a CFD trading account with a non-US broker. Earlier this week I lost a few trades and decided that, in future, it would be a good idea to wait a period of time between trades, get away from the screens for 10 or 15 minutes, to let the...

Whatever nature does is, by definition, natural. It is neither perfect or imperfect, good or evil, right or wrong. Such concepts are entirely human.

    It's all about the patterns. . .

Why use such terminology, or is it an attempt to impress and sound clever by throwing a few words of jargon? If you mean faster time frame then why don't you say that. If you believe that stock charts are fractal then would let us know what the fractal dimension of any particular stock chart is...

Symmetry is the most noticeable thing to me,although there are some minor imperfections if you look closely.

I've never seen this picture before so I can only go by what I can see. The bridge has vehicles and people on it so that implies it provides a route to somewhere, at least under normal circumstances. Also there is what looks like a pipe at the side and top of the bridge, possibly to supply...

The truth is, obviously, I'd like you to continue to post any information that can be used to put together an approach to trading that improves on anything that I can come up with on my own. Then again, no one would expect you to put yourself at a disadvantage by providing info to a bunch of...

Hmm... so there are others lurking in the shadows:cool: There may not be much to watch though, as, many posts were a response to your posts :) Interesting chart, with trendlines. The sombre grey background reminds me of the office decor where I work, its meant to have a soothing effect...

    RBT - Reverse Brain Technology

gktk stated "Be Disciplined" which is probably the succinct answer you had in mind, so I'll go with that as a main requirement for being a successful trader. A document I found described trading discipline as "avoiding behavioural biases" which lead to "behavioural costs". I'd say that...

Theres a two answers that I can think of that could apply, and they are: 1) determination 2) perseverance I think the first answer is best as the second is implied by the first.

I think its more correct to state that the idea of price reverting to the mean is just a misconception perpetuated by those who propose unscientific explanations of the world. I recall Dr BB of Top Dog Trading giving away a free setup called the 'rubber band method' in one of his free...

    RBT - Reverse Brain Technology

I read the BR pdf and in fact printed out much of the text for ease of reference when looking at the chart examples. It was good not to have to fork out to buy the book. As a result of reading it and looking at price charts and how thay are expressed as bars I feel my braiin is more in tune with...

I use the free screener Finviz to do initial screening for various criteria and obtain a csv file containing ticker symbols plus a lot of unimportant crap. Unfortunately Finviz can screen ATR but not daily range or ADR. Then I use my own code in matlab (I doubt many here have heard of that) to...

The wiggly line in question is a MA and by definition it is derived from current and past price so it therefore lags. Some people seem to think that price reverts to the mean, i.e that the MA leads the price, and can therefore be a predictor of price. I don't believe that, its not good maths...
