filling ES with Limit order on bid: timings

The time it takes for your order to go green is the execution speed. Not execution of the actual fill which is dependant on where you are in line at the current bid or ask. When your order goes 'green' that means you are in the Globex system just waiting for all the contracts in front of yours...

    Is depth accurate?

It's a PRICE/TIME priority. Not size. It doesn't explain Jayfords problem. I would also like to know the answer to that.

    Trader's Block

Have you considered trading 100 (or less) shares of SPY or QQQ using ES or NQ as your trigger. This may help you forget about the money part and get you back on track to pulling the trigger without fear.

    Best Platform to trade Eminis

I am assuming that as you are criticizing them then you must know the answer. Howsabout you give us your figure and then their figure and we can compare without having to talk to anyone else.

Ditto. (my feeble mind was unable to come up with anything intelligent to say).

    Trades for Tuesday

No offense Walther but this is the biggest load of bs that I have seen on ET. Are you aware that you could pick any minute of the trading day and then, in retrospect, say that there was a good trade at that time. Nothing has happened that gives any credibility to what you are saying.

Watch for a good trade on Monday !

Walther Your method would have a lot more credibility if you post a trade (if you take one) as you make it, between 12:30 and 1:10 on Monday. You will have zero credibilty if you come here after 1:10 and say, "I told you that would be a good time to take a trade".

    Chatroom Recommendation

You've got to love it when a spammer tries to get some newbies interested and gets shot down by everyone. Newbies. Listen to the ET veterans, not the spammer in the first post. I initially sent a 'kill' message to the moderator, but in retrospect it would be a better idea to keep this...

    Conspiricay Theory: Blueprint for War

The economy (market) had already started to slip before GW came into office. It's the cyclical nature of the economy. Kind of like a pitcher leaving a game with a 1 run lead but leaves the bases loaded with no outs for the next guy. Then after they lose the game he says "All I know is that we...

    Dining Table Laptops

You could say the same thing when they showed desktops a few years ago. I think the idea is that you think everyone else is doing that, so you go out, get a laptop (or desktop a few years ago) and do whatever they are doing. You quickly realize doing whatever they were doing isn't much fun so...

    Trading these markets...

These statements don't say where or when. For those that say just 'go short', what did they do when ES went to 830 today, or yesterday when Dow ended up being +ve. Everything is easy in retrospect but when you are looking at the hard right edge of your charts then things get a bit more difficult.

Difference between playing ES and NQ

I agree that 1% is a prudent risk. Some will risk more, some will risk less. However, this has got absolutely nothing to do with your original statement. You (or a very smart trader) could easily have said that you need $50,000 for ES as 1% of that is $500. It is just throwing numbers around...

Difference between playing ES and NQ

So your saying that a system that requires a risk of 2 ES points ($100/$50) would require an equivalent risk of 12.5 NQ points ($250/$20) if the same, or similar system were used? So NQ is over 6 times as volatile, has over 6 times the range etc... IMHO currently the equivalent NQ risk on 2ES...

Lol You Have Got To Be....

What is the problem with having the Execution window open to show you your fills? I have it sitting right under my TWS trading page, it doesn't even look like a separate window. Also, in my experience the depth of market on emini's updates in a fraction of a second.
