Yes it is. The back fill engine for brokers and data providers is different per each entity. Most limit the tick data to a few days to month and min data to a few years. The lines of data are just to much.

IB is not that great when this stuff happens, my broker at a mid tier firm will call me when the exchange goes down and I get email from compliance. I think IB is your problem. All tht great automation with no support = issues when shit happens.

It does not back fill on IB data. Try a simulation account and they may have data that you can back fill with. NINJA does save data from some major markets but not all.
