Blix 'hid smoking gun' from Britain and US

when he said he destroyed the weapons of mass destruction he was trying to remove guilt from himself and there is no way for us to know if he was lying or not. The fact that he went back to Iraq tells me that he failed to cut a deal, they didn't trust him.

"Earn a salary, get full benefits and split your profits with us." so, that payout is on top of your salary and benefits. salary, benefits, plus bonus. In other words, its actual employment, and that is the only way I would want to be dealt with if I had to go to somebodies office 9-5...

    How does this work?

the answer to the original question is yes. They try to break even on actual profit/loss from trading. If the traders make profits that is nice because it keeps them trading, but not absolutely necessary.

    3 to 1 win/loss ? Don't think so.

"3rd: 1 and 2 are much easier to accomplish if you have a source of income exclusive of trading." I agree with that as well. I have heard of people talking about cash reserves in the checking account, but few mention earning wages or having passive income producing investments. Needing to...

    The Ultimate Futures Trading Camp...???

$6,000 is absolutely insane. Take that $6,000 and buy some books, then paper trade, then trade for real with what is left and do the best you can. It takes years to get really good, not a week.

    Nikkei Tanking

"Doesn't Hari Kari come before personal bankruptcy in Japan?" not literally of course, but you get the point. "Zombie companies" is the phrase du jour, they won't let anybody go bankrupt. The zombies suck up investment that should be going to smaller growing companies. Personal bankruptcy is...

Would you start a prop firm now (assuming you had the capital)?

The problem is the total number of individuals who actively daytrade is probably still shrinking and we still don't see total apathy in the markets.

    3 to 1 win/loss ? Don't think so.

I realize many make a distinction between trading and investing, but here is what Warren Buffett recently said in his letter to shareholders: "Indeed, during the 38 years we have run the company's affairs, gains from the equities we manage at Berkshire (that is, excluding those managed at...

    Serious Job Losses....

many people who have maintained their jobs and incomes are in denial about the state of the job market. many people who own inflated homes are in denial about the housing/construction bubble. However, things are not as bad as Fleckenstein and company are saying, they are talking...

    Morality, trading, and the war.

If somebody buys some puts and the stocks go down its no difference if there is a war on or not, its all the same game. I owned some puts on GS before 9/11 happened and tripled my money purely by accident. I felt guilty about it and gave a little to charity, but ultimately I didn't do anything...

how to attack the subjects' egos and force them to come to a decision

finally harry you have posted something that is real and makes sense and has relevance to the real world. People don't like to admit it, but they get manipulated all the time. And yes, the Scientology "church" ( world headquarters down the road from me ) knows all about manipulative sales...

    Serious Job Losses....

this is not a depression scenario. Both the Fed and the government will ultimately succeed in creating inflation even though all they have done so far is prevent deflation, but thank god for that.

    Worldco R.I.P. 1993-2003 ?

If they are still going in a year then they will probably survive the bear market. If they just took some big cash hits and fired the risk manager maybe its once bitten twice shy and they will be on the straight an narrow.
