    The LIBOR is useless

A very good PD (public domain) article in this AM's FT Alphaville. The links are worth a look as well. http://ftalphaville.ft.com/blog/2009/06/22/58316/libor-is-useless/ lj

    Iterative Refinement

I must plant myself firmly in Romanus' camp and by inference, whoever it is he is quoting. This is a learned method with a well-described, though at times difficult to appreciate, set of rules. Discretionary = contextual which is also rule-based. Facility of application comes with thorough...

Adventures in the garden of good and evil

As any good VSA practitioner will tell you, context is always to the left. The current IR discussion on the OB has, IMO, degenerated into an 'angels on the head of a pin' fest and misses the critical contextual point, because the RTL of consequence is likewise missing. The events of this AM...

Adventures in the garden of good and evil

I enjoyed it when I bought it and still do. It is also a keeper for me, a survivor of my 'trading stuff I don't need no more' purge of earlier this year. lj

Adventures in the garden of good and evil

Some time ago in my search for truth and knowledge in the markets, I purchased a book called "The Market Maker's Edge" written by Josh Lukeman. It's probably been 'reviewed' by various entities on ET and equally probably been described as being out-of-date and immaterial to what is happening...

    Iterative Refinement

To the relief of all and the joy of many, some time ago I shifted my incoherent ramblings to another thread, “Adventures …”. The recent discussion about OB’s shows how long time practitioners of the method can disagree about the meaning of something they have read and I feel compelled...

Adventures in the garden of good and evil

The liabilities of laterals show forth in my dyspronouncement concerning the PFC. When one strips away the LM (beginning at 2:45), the last three bars of the day show completion. YM shows the same. Lateral constructions can be helpful at times (like this AM) but inappropriate use and/or...

    What me worry. Part Deux.

From the NYT: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/12/business/economy/12worth.html?_r=3&hp A pithy piece with a link to the Fed's FoF report. lj

Adventures in the garden of good and evil

This seems to be have been happening for a couple of weeks or so and is most welcome (See the Increasing, decreasing, ... thread). Rollover to U9 necessitated the finetuning of some TL's and as well provided several surprises related to slopes, end points and starting points when compared to...

Adventures in the garden of good and evil

That's 7:04 EDT. There can be something about 7 AM ET. Look at a random selection of equities for a couple of weeks. This AM has been picture postcard perfect with the YM leading the ES by as much as 15 minutes. Two of my AM TL's have been taken out since the current low at 11:18. Like...

Adventures in the garden of good and evil

Question. If Gaussians follow trendlines then which comes first? If it is wrong (or missing) then the Gaussian will be wrong (or missing). I hate Gaussians quite possibly because I spent some 15 years or so of my academic research life looking at the damn things. The Gaussian concept, as...

Adventures in the garden of good and evil

This is what I was talking about last PM. Not a standard color scheme for the channels (here channels is a generic expression). The stuff after the vertical yellow line happened this AM and yes that's right, the stuff before the yellow line happened yesterday. The green line with the steeper...

Adventures in the garden of good and evil

The raw (no slide) YM RTFH (9:30-4:15 EST) data strikingly leads one to believe we are nondom for the AM. lj No slight intended for sliders. Whatever works.

Adventures in the garden of good and evil

It would seem that we have dealt with the 9:35 RTL but the 922.50 price point is still in play. The very nice thing about anticipation is that it allows you to be led by the market to where it is you are going. If instead you 'instruct' the market on how and when to get there, disaster...

Adventures in the garden of good and evil

Hi ehorn, A 'slide' puts the open today @ 940.50 and if so, the 14:40 low has been breached, suggesting that it is the 9:35 RTL which is still in play. lj

Adventures in the garden of good and evil

In one of his last posts on the IR thread, ST presented the assembled crew with this thought: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=2283780&highlight=imagine#post2283780 It is an important post, IMO, since it points to a way of considering the market which appears to be...

For all you oh so gay blades: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/newreply.php?action=newreply&threadid=128207 As always though, you best be looking at the right one or, like Freddy, you will get shafted. Another point is that because the majority of the players do not play with this mindset...

Adventures in the garden of good and evil

This AM is a classic example of the criticality both of the 'correct' RTL and of dealing with it properly. Although many things last PM pointed to a reversal, the dominoes did not fall this AM and if one held on to the idea that a reversal must have occurred because ..., then they got screwed...
