    Iterative Refinement

Actually the record is 6X, set by Spyder if I'm not mistaken, on a non-trending day, if I'm not mistaken. Now the question is knowing what you know about the method, is it possible for an expert/meta-expert practitioner of the JHM to do that? You've already answered that. I haven't though and...

Empiricism means doing something which works without understanding why it works. I hold a double doctorate with a PhD in inorganic biochemistry and an MD with an Internal Medicine specialization. I really do know WTF I'm yakking about and the more you say the more it becomes apparent that you...

    Iterative Refinement

I'm glad that you have found a methodolgy that works for you, yoohoo (really). Regrettably most of your post is spent bad-mouthing Jack, Spyder and by implication, all the other Hershey practitioners who have mistakenly found merit in the method. You set yourself, intellectually-speaking...

Adventures in the garden of good and evil

A non-down Friday. Fortuitous? Probably not but who knows. Will say though that one should not bank on an up Monday - it's not much better than a coin toss. Oh where, oh where is that bear market rally, la, la, la. Stumbled across these Aussie chicks who do a much better la, la, la...

Pretty impressive yoohoo. Original work of yours, or no? Is it applicable to trading intraday equity index futures? If so then I'm with gooch. Set up a site and start laying it down - for free, of course. What we are doing in this particular discussion, lines and such, has at its base, a...

Interesting logic romanus. A few questions: 1. Where's the P2 of the 5 min ES traverse? 2. I don't know what you mean by an accelerated traverse or what it looks like. I've heard this term used before by you and others and actually asked you what it exactly means. You said it follows a...

Thanks ehorn for your reply. I think I have a pretty good understanding of what is going on but it frustrates me when it appears that rules have been violated. Like yourself I find it most beneficial to focus my monitoring efforts on the tapes, traverses, Gaussians and TL's. 95+% of the time...

Quote from ljyoung: Couldn't agree more. Although you didn't post a chart yesterday so I don't know how you viewed it, do you think that the EOD upward price movement from the point of change today, carries the same message as it did yesterday? That is that we have completed a downchannel and...

Although you didn't post a chart yesterday so I don't know how you viewed it, do you think that the EOD upward price movement from the point of change today, carries the same message as it did yesterday? That is that we have completed a downchannel and are in the first leg...

So beast-slayer that you are ehorn, where would you have gone long? With the first penetration of the scaly bastard or the second one? lj

    Iterative Refinement

Error 1: The 12:15 EST bar does not demonstrate a return to dominance and thus there can't be a traverse level change signal associated with it. lj

Firstly a minor correction. The thick red 'channel' line on the 12:45 bar (15:45 EST) is an artifact of my attempt to position the "3" in the down channel over the appropriate bar. Please disregard. For three days now it appeared to me that my price annotations were correct. Looking at...

NonFarm Payrolls Forecast at -868 000 Jobs

I read 20 million a couple of months ago. I don't remember where but 30 million seems just about right for the time frame. Population ratio is about 4.5 to 1 but there are a lot more 'poor' Chinese than 'poor' Americans. lj

    Iterative Refinement

So you are saying that your downchannel begins with the first bar of the day (on 3/3/09) and is another case of a traverse widening to a channel. If that is so then there must be a completed upchannel prior to the downchannel. lj

    Iterative Refinement

I see your point David but what is the 'structure' of your downchannel and when did you complete your downchannel? I am assuming that one must have a completed downchannel before getting a completed upchannel. I am not saying that my annotation is correct but rather asking what yours is...

Agreed. lj Furthermore, I must in the light of new and compelling evidence amend my earlier statement about Gaussians being confirmatory and not predictive. Aside from using the "p" word which should be the "a" word (he said, turning a swipe from a 2x4 into a glancing blow), Gaussians are...

Adventures in the garden of good and evil

"Thirteen Moons" was an excellent book. Charles Frazier has a style which I find hard to describe but it's kind of like clenching your fist and then relaxing it completely. I hope that his third novel is in the making. lj
