IB"security"...nearly cost me my job. awful

Yeah, can you imagine this happening at Goldman or Merrill Lynch? I can't. This transaction would have been confirmed and completed in 48 hours max. That's what they mean by "value added" services.

IB"security"...nearly cost me my job. awful

After reading this I would have to agree that the OP should have known about and obtained this security device. It looks like it could have prevented the problem. But that still doesn't change the fact that this should have/could have been taken care of much quicker than this simply because...

IB"security"...nearly cost me my job. awful

Three weeks later he's still waiting. Would you consider that acceptable? I wouldn't.

IB"security"...nearly cost me my job. awful

Everytime I think I'm gonna switch over to IB, something like this comes up. You cannot underestimate the value of good CS. This should have been taken care of with one or two phone calls and maybe a fax or two.

Es profit on 1/4 point can it be done? Part II

Quote from gnome: "Scalping for quarters" in the ES is like trying to pick up dimes in front of a steam roller. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Are you saying that nobody in the industry is presently doing it...

Es profit on 1/4 point can it be done? Part II

I'm not sure his success rate would improve, but it could possibly make it profitable.

    Trading is simple

It was trader28 that started the SPM thread. Pretty good thread actually, some good info there. What A means is that he told you that Price is king( that was the key ), but he's not going to show you how to implement it. My suggestion...Search, Read, Ask........learn...

How much is the going rate for someone to build a computer?

I built one last year with this guy's help. It works well, but prolly not any better than one you buy retail. And I didn't save any money doing it myself, BTW. http://www.mysuperpc.com/

    TAX question, help !

Nothing's going to happen, it's just that you have to enter the data yourself, which you already did. BTW, what do you trade? Stocks are harder to deal with than futures when it comes to taxes.

5.20% CD terms 6mo to 10 years. too good to be true?

Well, you do know that any type of savings account is covered by FDIC, right? That includes checking accounts, Money Market accounts as well as CDs.

5.20% CD terms 6mo to 10 years. too good to be true?

Try this link to the FW Finance Forum. Second link down should be the CD thread. Lot's of good info on FW. BTW, what's the big attraction to a CD? You can make close to/the same from more liquid investments. http://www.fatwallet.com/c/52/ In case you want to see that 6% checking...

5.20% CD terms 6mo to 10 years. too good to be true?

There is a local CU that offers a 6% checking account. What makes you think 5.2% is too high? It's right in line with many other banks.

    The Time Has Come !

You come on here asking for advice, we give you some and then you say "You're right, BUT..blah blah blah...." When I said concentrate on making money with one contract for now, THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I MEANT. I didn't mean concentrate on making it with one contract for now, and at the same time...

    The Time Has Come !

You're jumping the gun a bit, thinking out too far ahead, IMO. Concentrate on becoming profitable with that 1 contract, THEN add more. Don't put the cart before the horse. But just for fun, let's look at the numbers. Assuming a $500 margin per contract, you're gonna need $25k to trade those...

    Free Trade Wars

Looks like the free trade wars are heating up again. Wells Fargo is upping the ante, prolly in response to Boa's move last fall. It looks like it will be easier to qualify for the free trades compared to BoA. https://www.wellsfargo.com/jump/investments/freetrades Here's the thread in...
