When I do a stock search I either get .V for pinksheets or .U for OTCBB stocks. When a stock is dually listed as OTCBB and Pinksheet what will it show on the quoteline? .V or .U? :)

    Cost of Carry Formulae

Forgive my lack of math skills... Suppose... s=50 i=.04 n=90/365 d=0 Using the above formula this comes out to be too high?? What do you get? ^ = square root right? 50 * 90/365 * .04 = k seeems to be more acurate = .49 for 90 days of carry. :)

    Non-SuperMontage Participants

ARCA only has a few direct link ECNs ISLD, INCA (and Btrade sometimes). They cannot send the order to an ECN who is not particpating in SuperMontage via a Nasdaq service like they used to. :)

    Cost of Carry Formulae

But... if I want to make an interest rate play (Conv./Reversal/Jely Roll), don't I need to consider my actual charges for borrowing the stock? Would the 10 year bond be what is plugged into the pricing model for the options trading floor? :)

    Cost of Carry Formulae

In options K (carry) = i - dividend or K = (i x day x strike) - div Two questions for you option big brains... 1. what actual interest rate do you put into the formulae for "i"? If I can collect 1% on cash and can borrow at 5% om margin Then does K = 5% or fairvalue of the i rate...

    Non-SuperMontage Participants

SelectNet becomes Directed Super Montage. Directed Super Montage is for Super Montage paticipants only. So that won't work... :)

    Non-SuperMontage Participants

Does anyone have a plan for executing against non-SuperMontage participants? e.g. 50.00 bid is a non-SM participant ECN. How will you trade against it if it s not a ECN your broker has a direct link to? Most brokers only have direct links to the big ECNs... :)

QQQ slippage with IB's smart routing

When you short a stock on ISLD via IB does it require a up-bid? I know the legal answer, but has anyone tested this? Thanks, :)
  9. Q

    Adf???

Does anyone get what the precise role of ADF is to the market place...?? I understand it was created to keep Nasadq from monopolizing the market. It should give ECN's and Market Makers a place to post bids and offers without using Nasdaq. But since it is not an execution platform.. how do...

    The Perfect Brokerage

Cheap with lots of data bells and whistles... granted. But you said "fast executions".... That is where I think the world of brokerages will have to step it up. ARCA is now offering a front end to retail customers. ISLD is now using SuperMontage. Soon there will be no need for brokerages...

    The Perfect Brokerage

I was asked by a firm what I would want if I could make the perfect brokerage... Here is what I said... Cheap commissions * Access to every ECN and exchange * A "smart" router to do the work for me * Electronic complex options * Electronic futures * Good stock shorting * Good...

    WizeTrade Software Questions...

Any idea how their "proprietary secret algorithm" works? I heard a sales rep say that there was 7 factors. It sounded like it was computing volatility... Hi, lo, last, open, last tick (up or down), volume. Then they showed a graph of Enron and claimed their software predicted the...

    Supermontage!!!!

They (ISLD and INCA) are not allowed to say right now. But the reps at ISLD believe (or hope) they will have a direct access line to INCA and still maintain 2 seperate order books. Hopefully INCA will be included in their free ISLD book viewer. :)
  14. Q

    Supermontage!!!!

ISLD will route orders to SuperMontage if your broker has a "Switch" line. When this happens your order wil be displaye in two places at the same time. One on ISLD and one in SM. When ARCA routes to SM it will not hold the order in the ARCA book, risking double fills it will simply reroute...
  15. Q

    Supermontage!!!!

I am not sure what all the fear is about? It is simply an improvement on what already exists. You cannot trade between the marks on SuperSoes or SNET... and it continues that way on SM. It offers a one stop shopping for Nasdaq instead of using SuperSoes for market makers and SNET for...
  16. Q

    ARCA speed and ISLD...

ISLD will be using SM when SM goes live. This may mean orders will get filled on the NBBO for a change on ISLD. But, it may be a bit slower. The reason ISLD is fast is becuase ISLD computers do not have to make any determinations as to what to do with the order when the receive it. Smart...

    REDI participating in Supermontage?

ARCA (which is Redi now) has released information bashing the SuperMontage. This however does not mean they will not participate. In fact, it is my opinion they definitely will participate in SM. They have done the testing required for the SM link. More importantly it is ARCA's style to...

    Best options broker?

I am using PreferredTrade right now and ave been very happy with the results so far. The offer spreads, and stops based on the stock price or the option price. THey have direct access to all the floors. But they do not have streaming quotes, best when used with another quote feed...
