I believe TMBR closed up the AMEX market makers suddenly some time ago... :)

I have heard a couple of rumors going around... One, the AMEX could not merge with PHLX and now they are considering closing up shop on the options floor. Second, that NITE pulled out all AMEX option operations? Anyone verify or deny these rumors? :)

www.preferredtrade.com it is a smaller broker... I give them an average "O.K." Been using them for a while. They have direct access to many places. They just started a low activity fee this month... I imagine to chase off the little accounts. Totally crap, but if you do like 20...

BOSX = BSE specialist account (BSE = Boston Stock Exchange) I beleive this is the same exchange as the options BOX is. :)

Married puts have not been eliminated. The only thing eliminated is unlisted married puts for the use of creating bullets (deep in the money puts that expire that same day - no real security just a book entry) Not sure how this affecting shorting stock... I would imagine it made it slightly...

Not sure what rule apply, but IMO most firms will not allow short sales in odd lots. :)

If you set the default ot Day+ for both listed and OTC securities the order will work for the pre-market, normal, market and post market hours. "Now order" - only hits ECNs and the order is IOC. Logic is I am filled right this second or I am out. True you never have to use it - but it can...
