    Stops Vs. Drawdown

Profitability will depend on the skills of the two traders.------->>> This is the key. The question of whether to use stops or not depends on the skills of the trader.

    Stops Vs. Drawdown

You are right, I am Trader B and it does work for me but there are times when I wish I was Trader A. Being Trader B can increase your win rate but by doing that it can decrease your profit potential. For example, if you take 1 contract long and ride it down 10 points (just an example here) you...

    Mark my words here...

Aye Aye General! Here's the deal simon. I have been where you are and you are in the stage of the game where you need to make a call and you need to be right and you will defend those beliefs religiously. Take this for what it's worth -- and it's worth a whole heck of a lot -- just trade what...

    Mark my words here...

Simon, this was a nice call but the thing you have to remember, a trading a career won't last long by knowing where the market is going and making calls. I can call the market about 25% of the time and when I'm right my timing is ALWAYS off.

    Stops Vs. Drawdown

How about a quick discussion on risk management. Constructive responses are welcome, non-constructive ones will be ignored. I pose the following question. You have <b>Trader A</b> who uses hard stops on each trade. This trader has a maximum down day of $5000 and will quit once he hits...

    Sad day for Americans...

While I agree with your assessment that our children will be paying for this for decades to come and the irresponsible folks who made and took those loans should stew in their own misery I have to think about what life would be like if the government DIDN'T do this? It would be a worldwide...

Futures up big - the bear market is over

Let's do a quick review. The same thread posted by Port1385: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=135684 Then by TraderZones: http://elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=128386 And ET's policy states: "<b>Registration is limited to one username per...

When is ET going to ban you for posting under multiple user names? Port1385 = TraderZones. How many others do you have?

How Do You Trade Oil Profitably Consistently Now We Are Back At The $100 Midpoint??!!

Ah, my mistake. I didn't know you were holding overnight. I would say a bounce is overdue so you may get a chance to sell a run up but I don't think we are out of the inflationary run up we just corrected from. I think Oil is eventually going higher along with another run in commodities so be...

How Do You Trade Oil Profitably Consistently Now We Are Back At The $100 Midpoint??!!

Difficult question to answer here because the only way to trade successfully is to develop a strategy that works in all market conditions. Your strategy is very similar to mine. Sounds as though you are selling the spikes up with wide stops, which is pretty much what I do. I will add to a...

Chicago prop...need point in the right direction

Exactly. I would say you are the perfect age at 30. Not to old to have a heart attack from the stress and mature enough to know when you are wrong. Prop will hire you but you have to write your resume in a way that highlights what you can do for them, rather than what they can do for you. Of...

    Trading made simple

I understand you are not interested and no harm, no foul. I have shown this method to a number of people who have PM'd me and many of them have put it to good use. I've never come on ET asking for a dime in return for what I've shown. It's not often you find someone on a public board sharing...

    Trading made simple

This is absolutely HILLARIOUS. You are scalping for pennies with 300 and 250 shares and you call yourself a trader? I'm laughing my ass off here. You actually make a living off THIS? Absolutely Hillarious!

Here you go screwball. This kinda makes your 300 shares look like you should be on a playground somewhere.

    Trading made simple

DSQ, you're a jackass. I posted exactly what you asked for. Hell, why don't we just call up PWC and get an audit so we can post it on ET. Go through my posts you clown. I posted a statement not long ago with actual data and account number (partially blocked out).

    Trading made simple

The setup was just different. The employment gap down changed the setup on my charts so there wasn't any definable level of support to buy on. What I'm buying on today is a support level that extends out a few days.

    Trading made simple

As requested. 4 triggers, 2 wins, 2 losses. Winners exceed losers and winning contract numbers exceed losing contract numbers. I had to stop out (they were trade out exits -- stops were parked below off screen) on the first 2 trades for reasons that would take too long to explain but...
