A good explanation may be simply that the majority of options traded on the bonds are institutional hedges rather than speculative positions, by nature contradicting the core futures position taken

Quite true, pit traded and fairly light volume. It might be OK as a long term speculation vehicle, but not easy to trade actively.

indeed, NL is where people will give up the most edge and misvalue their hands by 10x BB rather than 1 or 2 big bets in limit

been averaging $6 an hour at 2/4 for the past 6 weeks now and have placed in 19/24 $20 tournaments played :D the problem with me is when i sit down at a high stakes limit or NL cash game, i can't seem to play my game; not to mention the fact that those games play differently than what i'm used...

I'll throw in my 2c here. SNGs are a totally different world, in an SNG your main goal is to survive and to place (thereby making money). In a NL game it doesn't matter how much time you spend at the table, your money will come from taking bad bets/raises from other players and letting the odds...

a lot of people are moving into the intra-day spread trading arena. trading the calendars (and some flys) back and forth for a few ticks, not as profitable (or as risky) as trend-following though.
