    Tradestation 6 Custom Indicator Help

TS6 currently gives the whole session for futures and the regular session for stocks, with a dribble for the Qs. It doesn't allow you to specify periods to include in the charts - though the set-up clearly gives the impression that that's a capacity someone wants to enable at some point in the...

Actually... the code in the previous post will work fine on stocks, but will work on e-minis and other futures only if you're interested in the literal high and low of the "day": The lowd and highd functions are based on dates (high of date, low of date, etc.) rather than on sessions. At this...

"Funny, I edited that out of my post maybe 5 minutes after I originally posted. You must have read it and responded an hour later?" Something like that - went to the post, had it on my screen, never refreshed while paging back to it for reference... Not really sure what you get out of...

"If they want to compete with Cyber/RealTick, they will need to add many more realtime scanning features, in addition to the chart linking, and hotkeys." Though I'm a TS client and a junkie for the software, I agree that, at least until the promised TS upgrade(s) is(are) released, Cyber and...

    Mechanical approach?

if your results seem "too good to be true," then chances are the system will kill you when you actually apply it. There are many reasons why - previous posts on the subject have examined some of them. Or you can look at it this way: What are the chances that SUNW, MSFT, and the QQQ...

I understand why you'd want to be absolutely sure! I meant exactly what I wrote - and double-checked before posting to be sure nothing's changed: When you place the stop order it immediately goes out to Herzog (Nasdaq) or to the specialist (NYSE) and sits in their systems until and unless...

no outages today... a few weeks ago, they had a problem with a server or some servers (I never did nail it down), resulting in some relatively extended downtime - 30 important end-of-day minutes, plus additional hiccups over subsequent days, but for the most part (there are still occasional...

got my account switched over to the new rates as of today... now this is fun... being able to shave my way out of position... instead of having to worry about whether the wiggle is worth the ticket... staying in the game but not by opening new positions or having to chase or defy the market...

works fine for me... note that the strategy is written for an exponential moving average (default at 9 bar) and includes a "consecutive" variable (default at 1) - though, at least on the example I'm looking at... it's pretty close to a regular MA... and buy on close, not at the average...

Define "correct." Keep in mind that EL re-iterates at the end of every bar. Depending on how the signal is written, you can cause it to provide stops that will be tripped intrabar (likewise for alerts and so on)...

not that I REALLY consider it a major issue... but... if you want the view from the co. and Robertson Stephens, go to: http://www.tradestationzone.com/ and check under "Headline News." Site doesn't allow me to paste direct links to the reports, apparently... Not a recommendation for...

The cash you have at TS or virtually any other brokerage is probably swept into a money market fund. At TS, in particular, the option I've chosen is a treasury bond fund operated independently from TS - they even send out their own separate 1099. Now, if the money fund (or the US Treasury)...

The 2000i site gives a "late 2002" date for THE BIG UPGRADE - but isn't very specific - and I would not be at all surprised to see it or pieces of it come earlier, or later: Certain helpful changes to the order entry set-up and chart/datafeed have periodically been part of "minor" upgrades...

I presume you've sent your suggestion to them? Are you running 2000i or running TS6 off the TS datafeed alongside Radar off some other? Any problem with running 2000i or Radar off one datafeed alongside TS6 and its own (on the same system/connection)? Could solve some remaining problems if...

I still prefer TS myself, for the reasons indicated and others, but, if Raven or rather ErlangerQuote works for you - fine with me. I'm happy to admit that it has some unique, excellent features. I've had fairly extensive correspondence with the TS product devlopment dept., and I agree...

Have already commented on this in product review and in response to a multi-monitor question, but I'll put it here, too: Lack of chart-linking IS a minor defect in TS, but overrated: You have to use TS differently than you use RealTick or CyberTraderPro or similar set-ups, though, at this...

    TradeStation Windows & Multiple Monitors

If you're thinking about switching to TS, the first thing you have to do is stop trying to organize it or make it behave exactly like other charting software. I agree that floating windows that appeared on multiple monitors would be a superior option to what the program does offer, but, for me...
