Should you close your IB accounts now?

That's a very good point. Calendar spreads are treated separately in order to avoid such confusion but I am not sure regarding different strikes...

Should you close your IB accounts now?

A more fair answer to this question will be IB will do everything to protect the client's account as long as it is allowed by the client's agreement, "reasonable" (whatever the legal professionals mean by this word) and alined with IB interests. So, IB will liquidate positions if the account is...

Gold will never go below $1,200 per oz again.

This sounds like a good-value idea for people serious about the size. Debaser82's idea is more economical... but who can resist haveing a door sign "Half-tonne of gold bricks is stored here"?

    Technical Analysis does work

I don't think anyone would claim that techinical analysis doesn't work in the sense that support/resistance levels or channels cannot be explained post-factum. Most concerns regarding TA come from that it doesn't work 100% of the time or that there are a few ways to draw a trendline.

Gold will never go below $1,200 per oz again.

Thanks very much! I'll enquire at a local bank then.

Gold will never go below $1,200 per oz again.

No, more in a fear of riots. I asked whether it was a bank because you had written "a bank probabbly".

Should you close your IB accounts now?

Unless your leverage is low and you are diversified or, even better, you keep watching any open positions all the time. There are also stop loss orders for people who are worried about having their account wiped out while they are running to the toilet. Not to sound one-sided, this morning I...

Gold will never go below $1,200 per oz again.

Thanks for prompt reply! Not to be a pain in the lower back... do you store some valuables yourself and just don't care if they are a bank? Or is the price based on an ad you haven't followed up?

Why is the Yen so different?

"Typical" is the key word. How old (or young) a man should be to qualify as an eligible bachelor? Not to prjudice the answer, I have a friend in his 50s who would really appreciate a "dream" bride.

Gold will never go below $1,200 per oz again.

Sounds like a really good deal. A few questions: 1) Is the safe gonna be in a bank or a similarly well-guarded location 2) Does this include any kind of insurance that would cover armed robbery and the like?

Why is the Yen so different?

Yes, because yen interest rates are so low. This puts yen into the same basket of "funding" currencies as recent US dollar.

Gold will never go below $1,200 per oz again.

What is the running cost of storing gold bullions? Assuming you don't keep them under your bed or relay investment bakers who don't actually buy any gold on your behalf and instead buy gold futures.

Why is the Yen so different?

Based on this description I should move to Japan. I hear the Japanese are desirable marital partners too.

Why is the Yen so different?

Japanese yen is considered one of the "safe heaven" currencies to which market participants flee when they smell huge losses. USD is the other currency like this. Swiss Franc was another "safe" currency before the banking crisis unfolded and exposed the reliance of Sitzerland on the riskier side...

What if IB auto-liquidated you due a busted trade?

If you take this to arbitration (by fellow brokers) IB will likely claim that they had to liquidate the position in order to protect other clients and that you shouldn't take so much leverage that one busted trade puts you over the margin limit.

    I don't Get it?!

That's the basic idea! In fact IKB may have lost much more than the actual drop in home values because similar to index futures synthetic CDOs may come with reckless amount of leverage as standard (think of index value multiplier in futures). P.S. Technically, the CDOs were linked to...

Which trading software can execute strategy code regularly without trade happening?

NeoTicker is among trading platforms that can execute strategy on timer (in addition to a. and b. in the opening post). I am not sufficiently familiar with Ninjatrader to say if it has this functionality but, perhaps, Ninjatrader forums are a better place to ask Ninja-specific questions.

Looking for an alternative to NinjaTrader

You are very welcome. Probabbly it's because NeoTicker has been around since before .NET became mainstream. Personally, I prefer using visual studio even for simple indicators. It's nice to use a full-blown development environment complete with a debugger. I have a "build script" that allows...

Looking for an alternative to NinjaTrader

Neoticker doesn't appear to have any of these flaws. I have been running it for weeks without restart (though it's not officially recommended) and had no issues. I don't tend to have more than a dozen charts open at a time but from forum posts it appears other users stretch the platform much...
