    Paying for risk management

In all honesty the idea is not nonsensical. If I ever decide to do it (i have considered it once or twice). I would hire a person and train them to enter and exit trades as I instruct them, the idea here is to not make someone handle risk for you, but to take a observer/risk management role on...

What happens if you're short a stock and it goes to zero?

I actually did. Else I would have waited for zero. Did a decent move (400%) today too. :D

What happens if you're short a stock and it goes to zero?

Well I was short and my position did get closed automatically at the last traded price (.19 approx) and an equivalent size got allotted in the new symbol i.e. LEHMQ, I finally closed the position at 0.06 approx yesterday.

Is THIS the cause of the short ban announcement?

Cox saving his job could have been a small variable.. but this was going to come along sooner or later. Killing the golden goose was not necessary, the final blow was of course GS and MS, they were both poised to drop, but this was an overkill. just my opinion.

POLL: Do you prefer regular OHLC charts or Candlestick charts?

In all honesty its not the question of which is better or worse its just what we get comfortable with. The same thing applies to intervals. Its about what you use the least effort to understand and make sense out of in real-time. Its pure habit. From the beginning I have been using...

what will they try next to save the market?

Actually I agree with you, I was thinking the same thing, though I have butterflies in my stomach thinking about what all can happen tomorrow. Possibilities: 1) Banning Naked Short-Selling 2) Re-enforcing the uptick rule 3) Fed Rate Cut (Possibly pre-market!) 4) AIG funding confirmation...

    Simple trading strategies - impossible?

How would the edge get removed? Unless you are trying to define edge as it exists for the successful scalpers of illiquid stocks where the person with the most buying power usually wins. While I cannot throw out statistics for this, I would confidently guess that the majority of individual...

    How does this happen?

The first thing you need to work out is your risk/money management. How could you let one trade wipe out more than 10% of your account? I know it may have been more than one trade but that's even worse, after a couple of bad trades you should stop, analyze what happened, write a journal if...

how would one even begin to start a prop firm

Don I completely agree with you, and no two ways about the salary part either. And yes $50 is quite a tough criteria not just because of the limited scope for traders to play n learn but also the possibility of damage that can happen to a traders psychology. Though that is swifts method (in...

how would one even begin to start a prop firm

To explain this I will make some assumptions: 1) You have an office with 10 traders and you are the manager. 2) Your recurring monthly cost (basic) is $5000 (rent, internet, management and accountant etc). 3) You have 1 consistent experienced trader (either you or someone else) who can...

    Please explain what happened...

The person offering at 14.04 could have cancelled. It could have been a post-only order. There could have been a delay in order entry at either end that resulted in someone else purchasing the shares. The important question is did any transaction take place at 14.04 at all if not it...

Are naked puts really this safe????

Writing puts theoretically has limited risk, but its limited to the total value of the stock :D. A good question would have been what would they do if they faced a situation like BSC happens, there are enough threads and here's the link from bloomberg...

POLL: Are Fibonacci numbers a worthless or expensive crutch when it comes to trading?

:D Buddy you need to stop trading and go and study Economics 101. What you claim here is: If Most People want to be/are going long (hence there is greater demand) The price may drop because the supply is less. And if you think that makes sense there is something seriously wrong with...
