    The Book of Luke

That dude and you are on the same coin just different sides. I'm not claiming anything. I know I know nothing. I have no idea if there is a God, but the concept of religion, especially when you read the history of the church and all the mysticism and Gnosticism that eventually grew into what we...

How did you trade the last 5 days?

I think I've read about this before... how some markets are priced in butterflys? I'm assuming that's what this link is before I click it

How did you trade the last 5 days?

Whats interesting is how futures have zero theta but they expire just like option contracts. I guess this is just the inherent structure of the product, similar to forwards and even warrants. I don't think warrants had theta?

Starting to learn options (where to start)

Yeah but theres a human born every day. If nobody created new threads and just searched old ones this forum would be dead in a week. Theres always somebody new to a trade (no pun)

Starting to learn options (where to start)

Read this forum day and night. Read a bunch of books. Keep going. That's what I did. The learning curve will take years.

    The Theory of Edge Diminishing

But I'm not connecting why very small positions moving markets = diminished edge Are you saying the market will move but move DIFFERENTLY than the strategy originally predicted because others are now trading exactly the same? So the "pattern" whether it be volatility or price or what is now...

    The Theory of Edge Diminishing

I agree with your post, but I might add you're assuming those who adapt stay with it and can handle the drawdown period from a strategy they found from some guy on EliteTrader and keep going until they net positive. This would be a very small sum of people I think? Of course it depends on the...

    The Theory of Edge Diminishing

Well that exactly proves my point. If just a few hundred shares can move spot a few cents like you claim that helps my position regardless. I'm not seeing anyone prove to me that theres actual proof that exposing your strategy makes your edge disappear. Of course there might be examples on a...

    The Theory of Edge Diminishing

Are you serious? You don't open a second account because you think you'll arb your own strategy? Sometimes a few hundred shares will move bid/ask a few cents? Which underlying is this? If your profit margin is 1-2 cents are you day trading?

    The Theory of Edge Diminishing

I like your reply but its not realistic. I'm talking context. An ET'er who gives this forum his "edge". Could his edge theoretically become arbed just by posting his strategy on an internet forum? Is that even realistic?

Companies stock buy backs...How can you tell they are doing it??

Great question.. I've also read that a significant percentage of stock market gains are from share-buy backs. That its at all time highs. But how can one know this? What indicator/statistic do you look at?
