10 of Jim Cramer's Favorite Stocks

I like how Cramer says he is going to use X amount of dollars in his RealMoney ActionAlerts portfolio but whenever the market takes a dip, he gets to add money into the portfolio. So he started out with X initially but because of all the adds he is up to X+Y. Makes it hard to duplicate his...

    IB should I accept bust

Hell no don't accept this bust. That is complete bull. Afterhours movement of this magnitude is not uncommon and that price is less than 2% off the previous close. The rule is 5% in afterhours trading is almost always bustable. Anything else is noise. Take the trade - do not bust. Also...

Why did Hargrove replace Jackson with Mesa when Jackson was mowing people down? Depressing.

    Trading Scam Litigation

Unless the order was routed directly to ISE, wouldn't an options market maker get first crack at filling a market order? I'm sure a market maker would have been all over this.

    20 dollar spreads

The problem is even if you catch somebody the ECNs will usually bust any price that is greater than 5 or 10% away from the previous close. So if you want to try this, make sure your price is 4.99% away from the close. And make sure that there isn't news to drive a stock through your limit price.

    Profitable Strategy?

Put in a limit buy in pre-market that is 20% above the previous close. If somebody fills you and the stock is being bought out for more than your bid price, you win. Otherwise, you call in for a bust. No losses - only wins! It seems that many people use this strategy.

    Old Trading Tenets hold up

If you had shorted SPY on the open you'd be in the money now. More than one way to make money.

    Box Shorts?

If I had to make an educated guess, it was the entire practice of boxes. I don't think you can legally do what you are suggesting. http://www.montaukfinancial.com/actacs/ss_misc.jhtml http://www.fisonline.net/short/short3.html These links don't come out and say specifically that what...

    IB check request ??

Then why not charge everything to the person who wrote the bad check? Because they can't catch the person, I presume. It just seems wrong for a person who unknowingly cashes a bad check from another party to have to pay for that mistake which could not have been avoided. It seems more fair...

What's the best way to sell at the open?

If I have an on opening limit order to buy a stock at $26.00 and the opening print on the NYSE is exactly $26.00, am I guaranteed to be a part of the opening print? The reason I ask is that this happened to me about a week ago - the opening print was equal to my limit price and I did not get...

    IB check request ??

This ranks up there with a bank charging you for trying to cash a check from someone else that ultimately bounces. I say to hell with them.

    IB check request ??

I have used NetBank: http://www.netbank.com No incoming wire fees. I think an outgoing wire might be $15. I am close to a no-fee ATM for withdrawals. The only drawback to pure online banking is that change is more of an inconvenience.

    Fear of Failure

In terms of athletics, if you fear to lose, you won't achieve optimal results. You must desire to win. No great athlete fears to lose. Not sure if this translates to trading, but it might.

    IB no BRUT?

BRUT is an ECN. See: http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/030812/125136_1.html You should have seen the quote on TWS since IB supports BRUT routing.
