    CNBC - Cramer's Mad Money

I thought that changing your opinion based on market action was the sign of a good trader. I wonder how much of his abrupt changes in opinion are due to input from his wife. Cramer has been on a cold streak lately.

    OSTK ceo

After watching that interview, no wonder OSTK is hard to borrow. How can you be an investor in that stock and sleep at night?

Does IB offer any gear Free or for Sale?

You missed it man - back in the Naz bubble days I got complimentary gold cufflinks with the IB logo on them. One year, IB gave away a free copy of the book "Trading & Exchanges," but no logo on it.

Any other $1 <100 shares brokers besides IB?

Nothing is wrong. If I were in your shoes I would contact an IB rep and ask if you can turn the market data off for stocks so you don't have to pay the market data monthly fee ($10). If you can do this, it might be strange to trade, since the TWS works best when it has quotes showing. You'll...

Any other $1 <100 shares brokers besides IB?

I believe you used to be able to do this but I vaguely remember IB not allowing this option anymore. Contact IB to make sure.

I have had no problems running 3 copies of IB's TWS on the same machine over the same connection.

    Using The Darvas System

I would think a screener would be able to handle this, but all of the screeners I use cannot search for companies with increasing earnings. So I'm not much help, sorry.

    Using The Darvas System

In Darvas's book, he talks about being a Techo-Fundamentalist in that he is looking for stocks that are growth stocks, have increasing earnings, and exhibit the upward box behavior. It seems like he is not advocating strict box usage as is presented in this forum. For example, you can make a...

Nasdaq Busts and my $11,000 story

Exactly. So you thought you were flat with a profit, but now you are long shares. And the way it usually works is that by covering you have a loss on those long shares by the time the bust notification comes in.

Nasdaq Busts and my $11,000 story

Here is an example of a bust: There is a buyer and a seller on a single trade. The buyer erroneously entered a price that was $1 higher than the current market (say on INET) and calls in to have the trade "busted." INET rules on whether the trade is "clearly erroneous." In this case, they...

    Trading for a living

By asking for advice on ET about this major life decision, it implies to me that you are unsure about things. I say stick to your well-paying job until you are positive that you can make it on your own.

    CNBC - Cramer's Mad Money

That is not really a fair way to track his performance. What you really need to show is the percentage change from when his viewers got into those positions in the aftermarket last night - they were much higher than their closing prices.

IB's edemo Simulation is next to useless IMHO

Yes, the demo is lame. Use a third party package that includes a good simulator, like NinjaTrader perhaps. Its simulator appears to be free and I've heard good things about it. Never used it myself.

    CNBC - Cramer's Mad Money

Look dude, I am not indicting anybody. I don't have it in for Cramer. I find him entertaining. I have never traded off his Mad Money show, nor his radio show. Get off your pedestal. On his TV show he seems like he sincerely wants to make his viewers money. An unsophisticated viewer would...
