    Death Blow to DayTraders

Wet: I don't think I have ever said anything about knowing all the answers. If you read my journals you know even on my best days, I put down exactly what I missed, what I should have done better. In every monthly recap I listed a lot of things I must do to improve my game. I also don't...

    Death Blow to DayTraders

Hey, our mood changes with how we perform, is that wrong?

    Death Blow to DayTraders

Qwik: I am totally against the ruling against small players, but there really isn't anything we can do about it so I was just trying to point out the fact that at least for us it is not that bad. Although yes I do wish the discount brokers can put up something against this...

    Death Blow to DayTraders

I actually think the volume will go up. The game is about larger players moving the market anyway, with one 4 to 1 margin trader making up the volume of many small potatoes.

You won't get rich daytrading - my story

TradeMike: I DO agree that individual day traders top out at a few millions a year, but personally I would take that any day. You mentioned many hedge fund guys but most hedge fund guys I know are heavily into derivatives (Soros also did currencies), and I don't think it is a fair match...

You won't get rich daytrading - my story

Qwik: A 9 month small potato trader don't get quite as much benefits :-) I have 4 monitors, CNBC, CNNFN, our team was supposed to get a Bloomberg but a guy who used to work with us somehow magically transferred to his name when he moved to another branch! Instinet and Squawk Box for...

You won't get rich daytrading - my story

Mike: First of all I don't think you are hyping your site as nowhere in your post you advertised it, having the e-mail address as your signature or even the name of the site is ok in my book. Saying you can't make money day trading is going to generate a lot of flames on this...

PLEASE HELP!!!How to incorporate all the TA and other stuff into sth meaningful?

If you are swing trading, why don't you give paper trading a shot before you use your own money? I mean afterall as a swing trader you are not quite impacted by the fills and slippages, and your paper trading result will be actually useful.

You won't get rich daytrading - my story

Jea Yu doesn't trade, and his site is on of the frauds. 100K with 2x margin will get you 4000 shares of a $50 stock, that's less than a single position of a top tier day trader. While I agree at the highest tier of the game hedge funds will inevitably need to have overnight positions, I...

    July Trading Journals

13th in a row as I have finally made my way back to an all time high on P&L. It has been 3 months since mid-April when emotional issues coupled with a tougher market broke me down. A wonderful way to finish the pay period off as I have captured $4200, $800 shy of the goal I set for myself...

    July Trading Journals

12th in a row as I finally hit a $1000 day after 2 and 1/2 month's worth of scoring drought. 7 of 7 shooting on 3400 shares as I absolutely shottoday, +1104 before commissions, +1018 after. Hopefully I can pick up the momentum and close the pay period out with a strong performance on...

    July Trading Journals

11th in a row as I am now on my all time best. While the progress I have made this month is nothing more than pocket change, a day in the black beats a day in the red every time. +856 before commissions, +552 after, 5 of 7 shooting on 6100 shares. Again I played the morning and mostly ignored...

    July Trading Journals

Yet another light game as my body and mind was not ready for this game today . . . My brain simply doesn't allow me to trade aggressively and during the open I was a step slow on every trade. Even if I have been making peanuts, I would love to keep this winning streak alive as I have matched my...

    July Trading Journals

Light day as I failed to capitalize on yet another energy sell-off. Pretty busy with talking to people from Boca in the afternoon so didn't trade. +273 before commissions, +201 after, 2900 shares on 4 of 5 shooting . . . Holding on to a 9 games winning streak and hopefully I will be able to...

    my story

Part Two: Road To Profitability I just spend a year with zero progress in my account. I was lost. By then a lot of other people got blown out of the water thanks to Markman's screens, which really is not his fault as everyone thought they were smart in a bull market, but it made me wanting...

    my story

Part One: The Newbie Stage I grew up in China where the concept of the stock market didn't exist. I made it here to the U.S. when I was 12 years old and my family never had any real money to invest in stocks. About 3 months after I landed in New York, I got into an confrontation in...

    July Trading Journals

Why put up a 1500 shares bullet when I only used 600 shares? I wonder why don't I be more aggressive with my sizes with the way I have been shooting off the open. This morning double downgrade on EMC and a full line of bad news caused a heavy sell-off, and it was the classic sell and hold type...

    July Trading Journals

I was drained after the hardest personal decision I ever had to make. So today I simply didn't have my usual energy level . . . Still managed to pull out a win and extended my winning streak to 7 straight, +507 before commissions. +395 after, 4 of 6 shooting on 4800 shares. Pre-Market...

    losing

How long have you been trading? Are you profitable overall? What style? What Broker/Software/Equipment? Losing is part of the game, and getting blown out is part of the game too, accept it, have a good holiday tommorrow, and come back to play on Thursday. There is no magic bullet, if...
