Trading with a newbie, a retiree, a grad coed and a feminist pig...

Tried something new yesterday... hooked up with some people online for live chatting while trading the same instrument... what a disaster. A newbie wanted to milk us all for our systems. Yak yak yak and sucking everyone else's dick to butter up our egos. Good God... A retired post office...

    Instrument for Oil

If you are a newbie to futures and oil, and wish to have a lot of fun with that money, send it to me and I will mail you a book of blonde jokes. It will have the same financial effect of you trading in those markets with feet that aren't yet wet in oil futures.

IB Intraday Margin's gone for a few days.

Yeah they do. I guess that explains their spam. Didn't get any from them before I moved three accounts away from them. Asswiper. Ignored.

Why don't the top 5% spend more and lift the economy?

Economists are driven by the people in power and money. They do as they are told. Nobody in power and money can be expected to vote in the best interests of those not in their camp, like gnome said earlier.

    Work until you die?

After starting futures and blowing a small account, it took me a year to make a living at it. That was eight years ago. I may be arrogant but I wouldn't try that play with other people. They are always looking for a way to slap down others. Example: 80% of the posters on ET.

    Work until you die?

Trading after a week vacation away from the computer is like working out after a week away from the gym. It hurts again. Where's the heat rub...

    Futures margin question

I know people who leverage their accounts all the way. Some are inexperienced and blow their accounts. Some use systemized stops and profit targets, and are successful. Depends on the skill level and market behavior.

Why don't the top 5% spend more and lift the economy?

Indeed. Globalogne is such a joke on middle-class America. The sad part is that we buy into it to save a buck on an imported toy that costs just as much as domestic after having to replace it half a dozen times. The rich don't care about the middle-class, they don't buy from WalMart anyway...

    Public panicing?

But still not a correction. Dow to 7000.

    Public panicing?

I guess if people's systems are affected (as mine are) by this change in action, they would be delayed in profiting, but should not be afraid their systems are worthless. If retail 'investors' are panicking, that is to be expected, because they watch the news and actually believe it.

Glad my broker is not IB anymore. I don't miss them!

Why don't the top 5% spend more and lift the economy?

Trickle-down didn't trickle. Respectfully, If you think globalisation is good, you don't understand it. Read the NAFTA treaty. I did. It's 6,192 pages with side agreements. And no, reading only the summaries, or someone else's opinion of the summaries, won't help.

Why don't the top 5% spend more and lift the economy?

No. Do you think they are ignorant of shorting? Who is paying them to do what is in the best interest of the citizens? Who cares more about your money than you? Who cares less about others' money than you? You can't do business with people who don't have any money. If you're on a...

    Must trade today.. how?

Ask your friend for a loan before he starts. After he trades on that kind of emotion, he won't have it to loan after trading. Itchy fingers are very costly.

Differences between demo trading and live trading

The key word in your question is "you." Bingo. The only emotion is papertrading is winning. You don't feel a loss. Cash trading is felt both ways, and at every step of the trade. No amount of papertrading will prepare you for cash trading.

Anyone experienced the Oct 1987 crash?

Nah, this is not a crisis. This is a fast move toward a justified, logical, long-awaited correction. Let it fall, or it won't go back up.
