Hypothetical; $DWDP leaves Dow Jones, replaced by $AMZN

Does it really matter? Have you done any analysis of splits? Have you done any analysis on index adds for DJIA, looking at the company versus its peers? Is it tradeable? Is the DJIA too infrequently changed to be able to draw any statistically valid conclusions?

Wireless connection vs. Wired for Emini trading

The transmission medium is not the issue - the latency, reliabilty and bandwidth available is. You state standards as if you know what you're talking about. You don't. I've been running short and long distance Microwave links since the mid 90s before wifi was even a standard. Of course I...

Wireless connection vs. Wired for Emini trading

Why would a broker list any WiFi requirements? Completely irrelevant to the broker. More relevant would be available bandwidth. But if you have an unreliable connection, all bets are off - again, not the broker's issue at all.

Wireless connection vs. Wired for Emini trading

I noticed packet loss on a laptop's internal wifi card even with a professional grade wifi access point nearby. Looking through the advanced settings, I noticed a few settings for "power saving" modes. When these were disabled, the packet loss disappeared. In my experience, a charged laptop...

    Looking capital for system

Oh - you're the Eugene Labunsky who formerly tried to sell charting software, FX trading systems, metastock add-ons, yet you can't even afford to renew your domains like trendmedium.com, which you were previously peddling something on, for $15/yr or whatever it costs to renew a domain these...

    Compounding futures calculation?

Depending upon what you're trading, if you're starting at "1" contract there's a fair amount of quantization between the next few levels as far as compounding is concerned, but not so much going from the mid teens upwards. If you're dealing with liquid markets, it's just a straight multiplier...

SEC Proposes Rule to ‘Test the Waters’ Before IPOs

It does cost something if you want to be on a higher tier in OTC Markets (OTC-QB etc.). I actively OTC stocks in my trading and also ignore them in my backtesting - using a Russell 3000 stock universe bypasses most of the trash.

How is histdata.com for historical forex?

Using tick volume is not a decent representation of volume. It just shows you how many requotes are occurring. With knowledge of the source of data, I don't think it's worthwhile to use it. They could completely change sources from day-to-day and you'd be trying to infer relationships that...

How do REALLY SMALL CAP stocks do in huge bear markets?

Look at Russell Microcap index. Has about 1600 stocks in it. Tracks stocks roughly in the range of 2001-3600 by market cap from what I know about the Russell Methodology There are about 3900 US domiciled Operating/Holding companies listed in the US so this index seems to cover that segment...
