your timeframe is fine. it doesn't really matter as long as you are trading your timeframe. i would suggest trading the 5 min instead, but that's just my style. see the ~1:30 break of the 20 sma? that's your first sign of a reversal, put a SAR below that. good luck!

you could try this: put a 20 sma on your chart. price will follow it down in a trend. once the trend gets weak, it will break it. don't exit yet. wait for price to stop retracement and come back across 20 sma. now treat the furthest price on the break of the 20 sma as the reversal point...

good systems do not predict price. they simply place you in a position that is the most efficient for the next anticipated move. your question indicates that you do not understand this yet.

very well said. a 'good' trading system puts positions on in the most efficient place there is. by efficient i mean the price which contains the highest signal-to-noise ratio. that's why the system is good: it minimizes its own 'confusion' in determining trends. a 'losing' system tells...
