Interactive Brokers US daily settlement cut for their reports and statements at which time exactly ?

No, this is not correct as I opened a position at 4.30 pm EST and it was counted to the day prior and not the new day. But I cannot remember if the cut was at 5pm EST for the open PnL or later.

    Picking daily direction?

The next day forecast is not your favorable strategy because you do not get decent leverage on stocks or stock index futures. So it would takes ages until you get a meaningful (account/position) size here. Unless you do swing or position trading which is totally different I would suggest you are...

    NT8 Algo - trying again

Heard many bad things from many people about automated live trading on Ninjatrader over the years. It is only good for backtesting purposes nearly everyone is confirming. If you have the code in C# you can also try MultiCharts as it has multiple connections to different brokers and datafeed options.

Help me to read an indicator.

Your best indicator is price itself. So watch how the prices move and learn from it. If you want to read something I would suggest Al Brooks and Douglas "Trading in the zone" as essential readings here. Second best indicator is volume, you can turn on VWAP indicator and learn how to interprete...

    Early indications of choppy market?

Choppy markets occur definitely on lower volumes, especially on holidays as example or times without important news. You can expect larger trends on important news when volatility increases a lot. Or at midday when traders are having their lunch there are more choppy moves than at NYSE open or...

Do you compare your trading results to just buying and holding the S&P500? Why or Why Not?

It depends on what you do. But for trading rather than investing it is more important to be consistent profitable. So look more that you are profitable every quarter, than every month, than every week. Consistency is the key in trading. And not looking at SPY B&H is doing. You cannot compare in...

Stocks that don't move too erratically

    Currency pairs correlation

It changes over time. So the question is difficult to answer as you need kind of system or strategy here. Different lookback periods means different highest correlation. It is not easy to say, better you make your own thoughts, as it is already kind part of your strategy. But for overall there...

Is it important to define your edge mathematically? If so, how do you go about finding one?

You do not know basic limitations. As the leverage you need is not until infinity possible I strongly guess. Second there is of course a market limitation as you cannot handle more position size than the market can handle. So with bigger sizes you need to run on the larger wheel and then it...

Is it important to define your edge mathematically? If so, how do you go about finding one?

There is only one true mathematical edge which will last forever or is the last edge that would disappear. That is compounding on Euler figure. You can use a trailing stop to scale in when you are in profits. That way you can make for a standard 3:1 Reward-Risk-Trade a 2.7^(3)=~20:1 RR trade. In...

    Something just happened on IBKR.

It must be your error. You need to go into details on your own. You won't get that explained on support of IB. Interactive Brokers has a solid accountant automated interface for calculation.
