    I haven't looked into IF1-2 yet but I found these notes in a glossary from the MSN site: IF1 says be alert if the price on the current bar passes the prior close going against you (it may come back). Flag is up. IF2 says that when you pass the end of the bar going the wrong way, reverse.

    Keep in mind Scientist was scalping for ticks, so a different strategy altogether. When sweeping in SCT the DOM is meant to be a fine control... most decisions are made without ever looking at it. I linked to Scientist's post only because it made an impression on me and I thought it agreed...

    on the 5min chart I just posted it appears we had an IT breakout but on the Daily chart it looks like we are just flirting with the line.

    my method is a pain too, and leaves plenty of room for inaccuracy. I find a bar that touches the RTL of the IT and then choose any other point on the line, noting its time & price. I take those two points to the next chart to plot the RTL... once that is done it is easy to drop the parallel...

    icarus, very helpful post, thanks. What is your reasoning for using the cash equivalents? Is it for convenience or do you feel it gives a better picture than the ES continuous?
