    AAPL: Buying the Dips!

AAPL's 45 month Uptrend of Higher Highs and Higher Lows ended today. I didn't think this would happen, but it did - for whatever reasons. The May 18th Intraday Low of 517.58 and Closing Low of 525.71 were both decisively broken today on High Volume, with an Intraday Low of 505.58 and a...

Very wise approach. Wish I had followed that rule more often in the past! :)

Monthly Income via SPY Bull Put Spreads

Opened a shorter term SPY trade today, with SPY at 143.47. Betting SPY will stay above 140 through December 28th. An extra $34.00 this month will certainly come in handy! :) SPY (S&P 500 Index) About SPY: EXCHANGE-TRADED FUND SEEKING PERFORMANCE CORRESPONDING TO THE STANDARD AND...

    AAPL: Buying the Dips!

$1.20 less commission = $1.17 Possible Max Loss of $3.80 + commission = $3.83 So I've given the Market Maker 3.27 to 1 odds on the bet!

Good purchase price on the shares. When does the BC Spread expire?

    AAPL: Buying the Dips!

Options are "side bets" one makes on the future behavior of stocks or ETFs. The shorter the time frame the harder it is to predict the outcome, and the better (luckier?) your timing has to be. When you win, you feel good for having made some "easy money". When you lose, you feel like crap. :p

    AAPL: Buying the Dips!

AAPL's been making it clear it doesn't want to violate its 45 month Uptrend and close below May's Higher Low. As long as AAPL consolidates between there and the 40 week MA (= 200 day MA) around 600, I think all is well. AAPL's made plenty of these sideways moves before. See April-October...

Don't forget about brand loyalty when it comes to Apple. You can tell a Hell's Angel all day how your Honda has better specs, more bells and whistles, works more efficiently, and is better priced than his bike. And he'll give you the same answer every time: "Yeah, I understand. But it's not...

AAPL to hold 530 support area?

Cool chart. I agree with you. That 530ish Blue Line (which goes over to the last Long Term Uptrend's Higher Low back in May) is what's important. All this chopping around above it is just Hedge Fund Game Playing Noise. If AAPL closes well below that line, or even worse breaks down through...

    AAPL Trades (09/18/12-04/19/13)

Appreciate the reco, but I'm still firmly in the Bull Camp and see AAPL making 700+ next year. I guess we need to define "Trend Trader". I mostly make 6 month bets in the direction of AAPL's Long Term Trend, which began in March 2009. So whatever that's called, that's me. :)

You don't even need to go back that far iceman1. Check out the 6 MONTH Trading Range for AAPL last year on the attached chart. It had a Low of 329.91 and a High of 422.94, for a range of 28.20%. AAPL's current Neurotically Choppy, Bull vs Bear, Hedge Fund Manager Manipulated 6 WEEK range...

I agree with that 100%. In fact, I know it's true. Because I've been guilty of feeling "schandenfreude" once in a while myself, especially in my younger years. :p

    AAPL Trades (09/18/12-04/19/13)

No way. How do you figure that? Pretty sure I'll be losing in January, but hopefully I can prevent a Max Loss if AAPL starts going up again. Still feel OK about February (after January earnings announcement comes in), and very confident about April. We'll see soon enough. I'm a longer...
