    Backup Power and cable modem

I bought a nice UPS that will run one computer for about half an hour for around $100 on Ebay from this guy: ncc1701i on this page: http://cgi6.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewSellersOtherItems&userid=ncc1701i&completed=0&sort=3&since=-1 It was sold as used but it was just like new as far as I...

    Looking for an automation program

Does anyone know of a free or inexpensive program like MacroExpress that will start and start different applications automatically. I've used MacroExpress with success in most cases but I find that it does interfere with some programs when it's left running in the background.

    Offshore to Canada

Be careful, the tax laws as they pertain to short term trading are not very clear in Canada. If you are trading part time you may be able to get away with capital gains but if you are doing it full time theres a chance you'll be charged full income tax. You might be better off in a Carribean...

How to directly access MLS database?

MLS in Canada shows their listings: http://www.mls.ca/map.aspx I agree, 6% is far too much to pay to sell your house. Maybe 6% was reasonable when most people spent less than a years salary for a house but that's rarely the case anymore. There is a little competition finally showing up...

    You Wont Believe This!

Why don't you offer a compromise to your broker? The best thing to ask for might be free commission for the next 50 trades or something like that. That would be worth something to you and wouldn't hardly cost them anything.

    Simulation software or website

If you have an account with Interactive Brokers you could record intraday options data from it with Autotrader ($60). Then you could playback the data to Sierrachart ($80/year) and practice trading. You might also be able to use Ensign Software to record intraday data but I'm not sure about...

    Scalp Trading Challenge

Thank you, a person could make a living with 80% 3 to 4 times a month. I switched to Autotrader now which will play back to Sierracharts. I liked Ensign but it was a little expensive when I'm just playing around part time. Autotrader has an advantage over Ensign in that you can set a bracket...

I've never seen that message. Make sure you're in simulated mode. As I said, Jerry Sy could probably help you better than I could.

Thank you Ditch, I have only a few days charts saved so far of the Bund but I can see that quite often it has some nice breakouts of the opening range. I'll let you know if I ever come up with something based on your suggestions.

For Autotrader Playback: 1. Open Autotrader 2. Open Sierrachart 3. File/Connect, click on down arrow 4. Select Ensign Playback file 5. Select ES, NQ or YM files 6. Click on "select", browser opens for your hard drive, find where you downloaded the Ensign playback files for ES, NQ or YM...

Quick Reuters - Excel DDE link question

Check in the directory on the computer where the Reuters software is installed just in case a dde sample file came with it. For Interactive Brokers there is a sample dde.xls file that comes with it and I also found a sample dde file when I downloaded visual trader. There may have been a sample...

    Scalp Trading Challenge

I'm at work right now so I don't have access to all the programs. On your step 5 you have to select from the directory where you downloaded the Ensign Playback file. There is some good support at this site for Autotrader playback: http://www.e-minitraders.com/phpBB/viewforum.php?f=25

I had to get a real Job

Ditch, Are you still doing well trading the German Bund? I read your posts before when you were trading the index futures and you were mostly trading pullbacks. From what I can see bonds don't have as many pullbacks. Could I ask what method you're using for the bonds?

    Scalp Trading Challenge

You don't need Ensign to see the charts but Ensign does have a one week free trial. Autotrader is made to work best with Sierrachart: http://www.sierrachart.com/. I think Sierrachart's free demo will work with Autotrader. Autotrader will playback Ensign files or a number of different tick...

The market may be different now, but I used the identical tic data from the same days 6 months ago and could not get the method to work as he claims.

    Scalp Trading Challenge

Here is the first method from Kevin Ho's article: Setup: Wait for the first 15minute range to form from the open. Entry: Enter on a buy stop 2 tics above the high of the first 15 min range or Enter on a sell stop 2 ticks below the low of the first 15 min range Profit exit: Close out...

    Scalp Trading Challenge

I've always read good things too about Linda Bradford Raschke. Thats why it surprised me when I tried Kevin Ho's method posted there and I couldn't repeat the results that he claimed. Perhaps I was doing something wrong. In his first method of 6 he talks about entering a trade on a breakout...
