Odds Czar: Simple Biases In the Futures Market: 2008

Art, I'm just starting to read your book and some of the things you have written on the net and I'm fast becoming a big fan. I can see that you're quite proficient with your trading and I'm guessing that you really enjoy the challenge. As I follow along with your thinking and methods I'm...

    Multicharts User Thread

I've just started a one month trial of Multicharts to see what it's like. I have years of ASCII data saved that I'd like to import into Multicharts for charting and backtesting. If you look in the help file from Multicharts there is a section that tells how to import ASCII files but it's very...

OOPS!!! .....Biden slips bigtime and tells the real truth!

I don't see that any terrorists or such would be a real threat to the United States. The true threat is the over reaction to any terrorism. Bush has proven this by taking the United States to the edge of bankruptcy. Will his successor take the country right over the edge?

Tradestation no longer available to Canadians??

Actually I have accounts with Questrade as well as IB. I like Questrade because they are the only ones in Canada that will let me hold F Class Funds (no retaining fee which saves maybe 1% a year). I read that Questrade offers Cybertrader. Multicharts is supposed to connect to Cybertrader so...

Tradestation no longer available to Canadians??

Multicharts looks pretty good but I'd prefer to have a Tradestation account. Does anyone know if there's a workaround to getting a Tradestation account if you're Canadian? What if you use an American address or American social security number?

    Tick Data

I have several years of intraday futures data saved in Sierracharts mnd format. The data originally came from IB. Does anyone know if it's legal for me to trade or give (not sell) the data to others?

(fe)EBAY - I will never sell anything on it again

My guess is that Ebay is a well run company but the nature of the business will always leave it vulnerable to all kinds of lawsuits. A good portion of the high listing fees probably ends up in all the lawyers pockets.

(fe)EBAY - I will never sell anything on it again

I wanted to buy a nice camera for my daughter. I did some checking and found that the Panasonic Lumix FZ28 would be a good choice. I looked on Ebay and bid on several new and used ones over a few weeks. Most were from power sellers with "buy it now" prices that were too high. The few that I...

    Alternative to Tradestation

Does Tradelink have the capability of taking existing Tradestation codes and using them? It seems that most trading systems that you see in books and on the net are written with Tradestation. It would be nice to be able to use and share programs with other users of Tradestation without having to...

    The Barack Obama bubble:

There aren't any rules or limits for advertising consumer products in America. That to me is the real problem there, where everyone is persuaded to overspend. Why should there be any rules or limits for advertising something important like a president?

    Interactive Broker & Bracket Trader

If you have a real account at IB you can request a simulated account from IB. You can then connect Bracket Trader in real mode to test trading with the simulated account from IB.

Every American owes $33,000 and the troubles go away

$10 Trillion is just the start of it, the actual debt is closer to $100 Trillion: http://www.lewrockwell.com/walker/walker34.html The total assets for the US are somewhere around $50 Trillion. Total assets - total liabilities = Net worth $50 Trillion - $100 Trillion = - $50 Trillion...

    Equivalent ETF for YM futures

Can anyone tell me what the equivalent ETF is to YM futures? For ES you have SPY and for NQ you have QQQQ.

Crisis problem focus: US national debt - trigger was credit bubble

China is going to have the perfect setup. Once the US stock prices are all low enough, they'll use all their American dollars to buy everything they can. The Americans will be economic slaves to China for generations to come.

You Full-Time Traders - What is it you call yourself?

My first and biggest concern would be to make sure that I'm making a profit. If I'm making money at it, I don't care what anyone thinks. They can call me a bum, a parasite, a recluse, anything they want. How about a technical analysist, a technical trader or a commodities trader. I don't...

My next prediction. (The Euro to fall apart)

It might seem silly, what does television have to do with this but in my opinion, television survives on commercials. Commercials tell people to buy. If Americans are watching TV for 8 hours a day, they're going to end up buying far more than they need. You can see in the chart, the rest of...

Tradestation no longer available to Canadians??

I understand that Multicharts with IB might be an adequate substitute to Tradestation. What can you use for backtesting data if you want more than just the few days of data from IB? Is there a forum like they have for Tradestation where you can share ideas/programs for Multicharts?

Tradestation no longer available to Canadians??

I've always understood that Canadians can open a Tradestation account but can only trade futures, not stocks. Does anyone know if this is still correct?

My next prediction. (The Euro to fall apart)

I think the opposite will happen. I think Europe and the Euro will continue to strengthen. All the financial troubles center around the United States and how the people and government borrow too much. The European Union has rules limiting any member's debt to gdp at 60%. Bush and his cronies...

Do you keep your profits a secret?

Never say a thing if you have or make more money than average. Others will only resent it. Sometimes they'll try to get more money out of you as well. I made the mistake of saying something to my dentist and right away all our bills went up. It would be much better if you shared some of your...
