So, your stock on Amazon, you can purchase $250 worth of groceries at Whole Foods (which is owned by Amazon now)? We did last night using btc. How about purchase a laptop from NewEgg using your Apple stock? And this transaction happens in fractions, like you can us 16.35 AAPL stock coz that's...

CME Group Announces Launch of Bitcoin Futures

Thank you, I'm enjoying the ride in cryptos, that's for sure. Btw, I'm a fan of your posts on options and all the intricacies of the options' greeks and read many of your discussions with riskarb from many years ago. I lost money in options, needless to say. I don't have the educational...

CME Group Announces Launch of Bitcoin Futures

I do get it. I've made statements here that I don't think of bitcoin as a currency but as a store of value and yes, I'm in it for the price appreciation. I have a friend who has been telling me to sell all my coin as it hit $1k, $2k, $3k.... Sell for what? Dollar$? I don't need to, I've been...

CME Group Announces Launch of Bitcoin Futures

I would love for them or anyone to do this. They hoard those coins, there will be even less and will drive the price of bitcoin up. In traditional stocks, most (over 90%?) of the owners keep them on exchanges and they can be lent to shorters who drive the price down. Bitcoin owners (majority)...

CME Group Announces Launch of Bitcoin Futures

People who would "never" trade bitcoin (or cryptos) are now awaiting to trade financial instruments tied to them. Institutional investors that could not participate because of bylaws and other restrictions will be able to. Wall Street is coming for the crypto market and all that billion$ coming...

    hmmm...

JP Dimon is a billionaire and the head of one of the most powerful banks in the whole world. He made statements that bitcoin is a fraud and that it will blow up and anyone who buys it is stupid. Why would he allow his firm to trade such an instrument? The justification is because he will make...

CME Group Announces Launch of Bitcoin Futures

Fascinating to see the desire to have regulated markets for bitcoin... The reason bitcoin was started by Satoshi was to create a p2p digital currency that is not controlled by a centralized authority (i.e. Central Banks, Governments, etc.) that can manipulate the supply (i.e. print/inflate in...

BTC ATH right now. over $8000/btc!

Your arguments are valid and what you describe can happen but at this current point in time, the fact is that the market only accepts bitcoin for universal acceptance as payment and store of value (yes, others also hold their value, but the most trusted one is btc even if it's a subjective...

    Fundamental value of Bitcoin

This is most likely true. I used to work for an investment firm and these things were connected with coax cable, but that was a long time ago, but I did see one Bloomberg hookup 7 years ago, and again some proprietary stuff.

    Fundamental value of Bitcoin

I did all my transactions at home while in pajamas :D The thing with bitcoin transactions (i.e. Bitpay payment processor), they give you a 15-minute timer to announce the blockchain transaction. They're not dumb as they know the price of bitcoin can swing wildly in a short time. I've seen it...

That's a pretty good price. You had a high quality gold item there and probably are more informed than most. I'd still guess it wasn't a 10 minute deal, assay test and agreed upon weight and fees. It helped that you were in a city with lots of competition.

Have you done this yourself? What's the general area of your location (i.e. city name)? You make it sound so simple and I'm pretty sure it's not. I'll be surprised if you don't take a big hit on the spot price. Probably will get dinged on the purity assessment. Those guys are ruthless.

    1. Answer: Just contact Bitpay to purchase any house or car. http://www.nasdaq.com/article/man-accidentally-makes-13-million-buying-a-house-with-bitcoin-cm738868 2. Answer: Meh, it's insignificant. The guy above has bigger worries. 3. Answer: Same as above. All transactions were done through...

BTC ATH right now. over $8000/btc!

By associating Bitcoin with the other cryptocurrencies you mention, you're trying to take away what makes bitcoin worth over $8,200. By mentioning pets.com stock certificates, you're trying to belittle bitcoin. It's fud. I won't mention the T word. I spent over $1700 at NewEgg (using btc), over...

It's more than enough. I already got all my investments plus a little bit of profits by selling 10% (did not time it correctly when it pumped, but who can capture the top). So, I have no risk only profits and this was a small portion of the portfolio (as anyone speculating in HYIP's should be...

The haters keep hatin' but Bitcoin doesn't care. Day after day, week after week, month after month... And the hodlers are enjoying the gain$. One day, the haters may be proven right, but what gain do they have to show for it? :finger:
