This guy says futures are a failure

Let's take an example, you own 1000 shares of AAPL, and you wish to purchase $250 worth of groceries from WholeFoods in the next half hour. Care to let me know what your exact process is? While you're thinking about it, the Balenciaga shoes just became available from Bloomingdales online and...

This guy says futures are a failure

Bull markets have a tendency to produce a lot of geniuses :sneaky: Unlike dotcoms (which by the way I lived through the experiences of trading that market as I'm old), crypto traders/holders like me get to enjoy the fruits of our successes during this full blown mania, spending on foods...

    Bitcoin Price Thread

It is. $100 is the minimum amount I would consider for a bitcoin transaction. That's not the norm as it's usually $500 or higher (for me). I would prefer to use another coin for small transactions (i.e. Litecoin) but bitcoin is the one that is widely accepted.

He was asked if he had sold any and he said no. Bill Miller is a value investor so he clearly thought bitcoin was undervalued at $400, and what does it tell you when he's not selling at the current price at over 3000% profits?

    Bitcoin Price Thread

Wow, hope you guys saw the Bill Miller's bitcoin segment on the CNBC closing bell. Incredibly insightful and articulate on the crypto subject and market conditions. Kicker: he's not selling and recommending to his partners not to sell. His cost basis was around $350-$400 each (?).

    Bitcoin Price Thread

Since I've explained I'm on the camp of the digital gold/SoV investment asset camp, the fundamental valuation I have on my mind is easy to define. Say 50% of valuation of the gold's cumulative value, about $3.5 Trillion give or take. Store of Value, "underground" wealth is harder as I don't have...

I don't. I let the market do it. If the market says it's worth $1 tomorrow, there's nothing I can do, just as if the market prices it at $20K.

    Bitcoin Price Thread

I'm the wrong guy to defend the daily transaction idea for bitcoin as I'm on the digital gold/store of value investment asset camp. Bitcoin wallet is akin to running a bank, as such, it has to be very secure. Security and convenience are opposite of each other. The easiest way to use bitcoin is...

It's not hocus pocus or a patch, it has always been the way bitcoin works. Let's not beat a dead horse, carry-on with spreading your message :D

    Bitcoin Price Thread

If you say so, but you're ignoring what I said and how bitcoin works. If you have the time, quickly read up about the "change" addresses process. If Bob sends Alice .2btc and the input the wallet selects has .207btc, the "change" after fees would go to a new address part of the HD-wallet chain...

Pekelo, didn't you buy doge and do you have a wallet for it? The point is any respectable wallet (I use bitcoin-qt "core" I compiled from github) will let you control the transaction fee, and unless I'm in a big hurry, I usually adjust it until it's around $11-$12 which equates to about 300...

How many trillions before the feds step in?

It's an opinion piece. Don't worry about it too much as I'm sure you are not in any of those stages described.

This guy says futures are a failure

Last year (around March), I showed my wife the portfolio status and my description was "It's surreal". Things have gotten even crazier since... Today is Saturday in the US and financial markets are closed. Not the crypto markets, as our portfolio is up over $50K (not gonna give exact figures)...

This guy says futures are a failure

I cringe whenever I'm asked :sneaky: I just say more than 10 (but lately I've been lowering it to more than 2, because some react with extreme panic, as in ca$h out tomorrow, or asap, because it can go to zero in the very near future). Cash out to fiat and pay the taxes, then what? buy the...

That reminds me of the stock operator Edwin Lefevre... In many years of dabbling in the stock market (even using options), I have never experienced anything quite like the crypto markets.

Yes there was :) There's also Bitcoin Diamond, but I'd be careful with that one and it's not worth the efforts at $24/ea. Here's a couple of sites on Bitcoin Gold: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-gold/ https://bitcoingold.org/ (FAQ section)
