What is the best way to trade Oil for the upcoming cold snap? I am thinking VLO is a bit high, same with HAL and FTO.

Where does everyone live/trade and how old.

NYC - Trading since 1996. I'm in funds, options, stocks, ETF's, and treasuries. Once I figure out how to do these YM minis, I would probably test that out as well. Forex is also a possibility. Never sleep much anyway. Can't really make much money sleeping. Then again, there is always...

    When will Ford go bankrupt?

Simple. Everyone knows the U.S. gov't would not let Ford go bankrupt. Worst comes to worst, the gov't will bail them out. What Ford and GM need to do is get rid of unprofitable brands and consider a merger. Why these two do start talking about this is beyond me. If you think of it, they...

Hypothetically, if we enter a down market, what would be the best way to play it? Metals, Oil, Consumer staples, etc.

    Cramer's Mad Money Calls

Cramer should be thrown off the air. He does more harm than good; and brings in novices who do not know jack shit about the market. The problem is the newbies get cleaned out. I would not be surprised if he had a second agenda with the stock pumping. You cannot compare Fast Money to Mad...

    Silver plays

Compared to the GLD price, its more than double a share. Seems more expensive to me in terms of dollars and cents.

    Unprofitable public companies

It's always been curious to me how come unprofitable companies can still stay public with a loss every quarter for years. Companies like Mama (NASDAQ: MAMA) and 24/7 Real Media (NASDAQ: TFSM). If a private business would be run like these companies, they would had been out of business a long...

    HOC - is it overvalued?

I was looking at HOC for the last few trading sessions, but I cannot decide if it is overvalued or not. Would appreciate some other traders' comments.

Impact on stock price of your trade

AMEX is supposed to be the most corrupt. However, I done well on most of the AMEX stocks I picked. Really only had a problem with NGA. You need to go with the flow. If the flow is against you, then don't bet against it. If you do, you will get crushed.

    CANSLIM doesn't work ?

The IBD should only be used as a guide. I've heard a lot of people also use the IBD for shorting. That is something to consider. If a big buyer or fund gets in a rec. stock and shorts it by a huge amount, it will be weighed down until there is enough momentium to break the shorts position.

    When will Ford go bankrupt?

If possible, the best option for GM anf Ford is to merge. There is too much competition against German and Japanese companies. Also selling off their losing brands would help as well.

    dell

I believe that was the idea. Mac - Steve Jobs (cool, hip, fresh). PC - Bill Gates (dull, boring, standard). Not personally saying this is true though. I have the utmost respect for Bill Gates. MSFT 2.0 under Ballmer, I don't know. He reminds me of Crazy Eddie.

I consider Alienware in a separate division than DELL. DELL could not complete against them or Voodoo, so DELL acquired Alienware. However, Voodoo computers are said to be built better and faster than Alienware. The support is different at DELL than with Alienware. So, in theory, Alienware...

That may be true, but the average person who buys an Alienware, Apple, or high-end IBM are not really cost sensitive. I consider myself a savvy buyer, and I picked up a DELL laptop M 170 in Dec. 05. Upgraded with Micron memory (the best) to 2 GB's of RAM, and it was still very slow. DELL...

In terms of reliablity, they rank fourth or fifth. Not blaming the battery or anything, but their mid-range systems are not what they used to be. With better, faster computers being made by Apple, HP, IBM/lenovo, and Toshiba, their quality is not what it used to be. The support is not the...
