i'm too tired to read all that long story short, yes, the simpler the better - less chance of curve fitting and more application to a broader spectrum. All the strategies I use at my private fund and when i worked at a managed futures firm were very basic in nature - moving averages...

Look through most of the threads in this section - people have been predicting 'MARKET WILL FINISH POSITIVE TODAY!!!' for the last few weeks; eventualyl somebody has to make the right call.

I've always wondered how Cramer does overall with his picks. I flip through the channels and watch him when i'm bored and want to see a monkey dancing around, but never had any interest in following him - does he tank more often than not?

My methodology works well enough for me At the futures firm I worked for we turned ~15-20% annual rate of return with it. With the private hedge fund I manage now I'm turned 14.5% return on portfolio value in Q1 2006. So, um, yea, like I think it works ^_^

I enter a trade because my system RESPONDS to market conditions and tells me it's time to enter based on the data it has.

LMAO - anybody who claims to be able to 'predict' markets is a charlitan. Plan and simple. Nobody can predict markets; all we can do is respond to them.

yes very profitable when i worked/traded them with futures and ETFs. My main point was to see if there were any new tricks and old dog could pick up. ^_^

holy shit talk about over-analyzing, lol The best part about Waves is that you can argue all day long what wave you're in EW1: We're in wave 2!!!1 EW2: NOOOOOO! It's still correcting! See my lines! EW1: No! It's definatley 1!!! EW2: No! :mad: (meanwhile commodity doubles 2x in price)...

i hate candlesticks. I've tried numerous times throughout the years to get them to work......they never do (atleast for me, lol). Down with candlesticks :mad: Up with OHLC :D
