    Lots of BS on this thread. If it was easy to create a Walmart with $180 billion cash (or whatever), then why does Walmart simply issue a rights issue of $180 billion, and use the proceeds to build a Walmart in say Europe or Asia?

    Define wealth. Money, especially fiat money, is not wealth. It's merely a claim to wealth. If you go off and print loads of money, that does not mean you have increased wealth. Conversely, the destruction of money, say from the collapse in credit, does not mean wealth was destroyed.

    I have not really thought about this before, but after doing so, pizzaboy is correct. In a futures market, the number of contracts bought on any given day must equal the number sold. So the question then is how do prices move as opposed to why they move?
