AHG - Profitable Strategy for Struggling Traders

if i'm not mistaken Razor, 400v on nq is a pretty fast chart. have you looked at maybe a lil slower 1, like a 1200, 1600, or even higher? just a thought.. maybe you already do that. bb

Launched High Frequency Automated Trading Blackbox

you could learn on the fly if you had a platform with auto-trading capability. but the suggestion on programming is a good one. btw, what is a "black-box" .. "gray-box" ??

    Frosty Strategy Development

yes.. it would seem logical. i agree. another concept that at least makes sense to me.. test w/ a hard stop + hard profit target. hypothetical- 200$ stop 400$ target if it then hits 70% winners over 800 trades.. well, i'd be encouraged. the example might be extreme, but you see the...

    Frosty Strategy Development

i was reviewing the thread and was trying to determine the rationale behind testing the entry(edge) w/ timed exits. it's an interesting concept to verify the signal. maybe i'll try it. is there any reason to trust this result, or is it more of a logical conclusion we thought up?

the data problem.. yes, you got me there i guess. i considered purchasing data a while back but didn't. i was concerned that i might develop a system on the purchased data that wouldn't perform the same w/ IB's. so.. i have just worked with data i've captured from IB. i can create volume...

    Frosty Strategy Development

frosty, i would be hesitant to use 1 minute bars. why not try volume bars or tick? the benefit would be having continuous charts. you could w/ 1 minute bars, but after hours would be unrealistic. (i know you prefer not to hold overnight). but think.. your developing a trend following system i...

ima lurker .. so, there's the grain of salt. :) for those that were thinking long at support, when price bust thru support, don't you immediately think short now? or is that too simplistic? also, i enjoy following this thread.. many excellent opinions. so thanks to all. i will miss...

    Profitable oops

:) i've had similar experiences. actually, have learned from silly mistakes like that. but to answer the question, i wouldn't trust it unless i could explain the rationale behind it. maybe a long standing bull market for example? bb

Frosty's trading bot goes live part 2

my deal is.. exits are there to capture profits from all those nice entries my system produces. hence..their importance cannot be understated. i'm always looking for, or developing a new exit :) trailing stops hard profit & stop loss typically, i surround my entries with all of em...

Tradestation 2000i Displaying Day Session Only

the little 2 minute break you put in(24hr futures).. it's not required i don't think. is it to calculate pivots correctly? or..??

Tradestation 2000i Displaying Day Session Only

yes.. the method for data setup is via globalserver. i would suspect you didn't set up properly there. or..the chart you plotted is not the same symbol you set the RTH's on. once this is corrected..the strats will test only this data. *dang, spike's fast
