well, my point was.. if the system didn't start until after the market opened, gaps would have no effect. :)

i'm a novice at ATS development. i would think the HSI would require some special parameters in a system. maybe start - stop times for your system. i've been working w/ NQ - tick/volume charts. so... i can basically let it run 24/7. w/ HSI, the frequent gaps would be impossible to factor in...

i can relate.. some of those steps can be avoided w/ proper system testing i think. (save you tons of time as well) but yeah, same boat here.

for accurate $$ stops, w/ ts2000i, you must be certain the symbol is set correctly in globalserver. if the point value is incorrect.. you may have wildly variable results.

again, i'm not a user... but doesnt multicharts provide many of the features being discussed here? allowing autotrading w/ IB...? i have- ts2000i metaserverRT traderAssistant

there has been similar threads recently, and few mention Multicharts. it's my understanding that it has auto-trade capability w/ IB fresh out of the box. compatable w/ ez language as well... why wouldn't it be a viable option?

exactly... Multicharts does not require a 3rd party app to connect to IB. i don't get it.

i looked at my HSI chart, trying to make sure i had the time correct. could be possible that price was correct. depending on the time frame. (and if i adjusted the time difference correctly). * well, maybe not.. the price was actually at the :51 bar. was close tho :)

as i fwd test, (which to me would be a month or 2 for verification), i create new signals, new systems. i think i have some good ones. i'm afraid i'll have a hard decision deciding which system to go live with. in another month, i'll have 50 more systems. :p do you have a suggestion...

Multicharts... will hook up to several brokers. compatable w/ easylanguage. a bit buggy?

i use both hard targets and trailing stops. seems to backtest best this way. you could get a copy of tradestation 2000i on ebay for backtesting. just a thought...

sounds like you have found the problem then. owndata .. must be the issue. i havn't a clue how it works.

looks like volumes not being collected. maybe the metaserver template for collecting symbol data was changed? otherwise.. if you know that not to be the case.. then its strictly the indicator is failing to plot the volume. i would suspect the 1st though.. as the volume says "0" on the...
