Great stuff again @lajax I've just finished my 100 trades last week. I am not testing SLA, more reversals off extremes... The funny thing is though, that I have the pretty much the same stats i.e. My (avg / median) MAE numbers are similar. Also, the number of trades and duration of testing...

True. That's a good option. I've also considered starting a blog to post to as well. I like the thought of posting my trades, analysis etc for the sake of personal accountability. You can't run away from not sticking to a trade plan when you've posted it.... Another aid to personal discipline.

On a personal note, it's been too long without an update.... But to be perfectly honest I am getting more done alone without stepping into the hornets nest that ET has degraded into recently. I might start posting more in a bit, but with the crap that anyone who is even halfway involved with...

Had a look and my last post was April 11th... Quick Update: I've gone through 2 iterations of a trade plan, and am 2/3rds the way through my final sim / walk forward pass. Lots of reading of Mark Douglas as well... The results are very encouraging, and the funny thing is, all of this...

Cool. Like I said sorry for the stupid question. I might have a play with it and see what happens. Did you get a specific error message or it simply failed quietly without bringing back any data?

An addendum to my prior update above.... Just went through @gears journal again - I remember I 'liked' this post at the time, and it made a real impact on me, so too with @fortydraws post on the same page about primary and secondary Ranges. At any rate - this is what I was referring to above...

yeah - once again I have to say I've read that a few times ;) You know - I used to think that you meant preparation in this case as referring to the amount of observation and market characterisation one had done. Not necessarily prep for each trade. Therefore I always assumed I simply wasn't...

This is pure gold. Keeping this one. It's already in evernote ;) I've integrated something very close to this into my trade plan. Being prepared like this takes other considerations out of the picture that could cloud my judgement. Douglas talks about this in the disciplined trader:
