It really is'nt good for anything except if you want to buy a stock and forget about it for a couple of years. For options try thinkorswim, Optionsxpress or IB.

atRocky start when going live from simulation?

3 days is not a big enough sample size. Try reducing position size till you begin a winning run.

    1 Million Mobile Home

My motto that I use in the markets - never under-estimate the stupidity of stupid people - seems to apply to these people. ------ Don't own the land. As with most mobile homes sold in Malibu, the land is owned by the proprietor of the trailer park, in this case, Point Dume Club. Still...

    Building confidence

Let me guess, you're trading with a small account and have trouble keeping stops? Doing the following helped me improve my trading: 1)Learn to think in % return terms, not $ return terms 2)Backtest the system, if the results are reasonably good the next time you'll feel more confident in...

Do You have other talents Besides trading?

Interesting. I like to play super fast "blitz" chess before trading. Nothing like a good blitz game to loosen up the neurons and get the motor nerves warmed up.

    Chop vs. Trend

That's easier said than done. How do you determine wether a price bar is printing in a chop/trend realtime? A lot of people like the DMI, but I don't find it of much use in this market environment. It's easy to look back after a few bars have printed and analyze in hindsight. Personally I...

Thousands riot in China, attack police, burn cars

Don't know how Chinese "democracy" will look like, but these riots are happening with increasing frequency. Keeping in mind that China has more males than females, and historically a higher male ratio has usually led to social instability...

China tells U.S. not to meddle in oil deal

Well lets see China allow a US company to fully own it's own subsidiary inside China. Chinese need to open up their markets before making any more comments. The illiterate village-idiot politicians are barking up the wrong tree with the Yuan re-evaluation. The emphasis needs to be on protecting...

    Baldwin Blows Out?

imo trading is like riding a bike, once you learn hard to forget. Unfortunately even if everything goes smoothly 99% of the time, It's that 1% when we trade irrational that is hard to overcome ones psychological discipline issues that leads to disaster. Good luck on your come-back. Yes, imo...

Folks... We are headed into a recession..

The author is correct. Every market made up of human behavior which dictates price. Human behavior never changes, hence we see the same recurring patterns. Having said that, the historical mean P/E for the SnP has been around 15 and secular bear markets have bottomed out only after hitting a...

Starting in Corn and Soybean (oil and gold) Futures trading

I was enjoying a cold lager and you made me dig through your old posts. This is not the one I had in mind, but it'll do. You think u can "ride out" a 1000 tick stop in eur globex futs? u might end up hanging yourself instead. Well regardless, good luck in your new trading forays...

Starting in Corn and Soybean (oil and gold) Futures trading

stick to currencies. globex euro futures makes you $12.50 a tick. Your 1200 tick trade would have translated to $15,000 on one contract. IB requires $2560 to trade 1 contract. Also I find currency futures contracts trend *a lot* better and the trends are *much more* predictive than other...

    GOOG 300 Shorts mortified

imo If the mkt goes any lower GOOG should start topping out around 320. I think this is the next MSFT, just buy and hold it long term through many stock splits and retire a very wealthy man in 20 years.

Selling systems I developed to hedge fund

Why not find a managing partner and open your own hedge fund? Have him run the daily management and trading of the systems while you do your systems dev. Setup a seperate entity that licenses the signals to your hedge fund if you don't want anyone else to know how the signals are generated.

"The China Price" - The best business article I have seen in years.

You hit it right on the money. The chinese are not any rag tag two bit country. These people are the children of one of the worlds oldest and greatest civilizations that at one time was the mercantile capital/center of the world. Lest we forget, most of the wealthy merchants in old Europe...

Am I the only one that sees a correction?

I suspect we'll see a price lower than 1146.75 before this secular bear market is over with.
