    sign of a market top?

The cost of pros versus non-pros or any other fee imposed by the exchanges is a sign of increasing technology cost and has nothing to do with the market cycles. Sadly pros paying the prices for non-active customers who need the exchange's pipes as well just for quotes, research, etc.

    Better fills

You probably getting prices within their closing range which is very similar unless the market is very volatile. I assume that even MOC orders get queued in as well (if that is what you place and refer to(?)

"Not caring" about the money in order to win big

Interesting what the courts considered as fair and unfair dealing. It seems even the slightest of edges does not entitle you to any wining. At least, this is I saw it.

"Not caring" about the money in order to win big

comparing anyone to Phil Ivey maturity level is a bit unfair. He has been through a lot of cash management battles that made him what he is today. You cant get to this level unless you been through a lot of mental pain. Once you been through such experiences, you start doing what's right, not...

After the 1st leg up do you sell or hold?

I think that many traders struggle with two decision makings: Should I let some of my Futures contract(shares) run, or take them all off one my initial target hit? if they trade only a single contract, they struggle whether to use a trailing stop or to take to take it off. In my personal...

New to C++ - Choosing a trading platform

You present the Options buying process as a side step in your method, but, this is your primary challenge. Once you decide what option you buy: which strike price. month, expiration, etc then you can decide on all the rest. My entire experience has been working with traders who automate...

New to C++ - Choosing a trading platform

I assume that you are using a programming language since you wish to automate things. However, it seems that you are looking at platforms where Options are not native to the platform. So primarily you want to receive a signal on an underlying asset of stocks and then look for an Options strike...

New to C++ - Choosing a trading platform

TS easylanguage is not "quasi" and it is useful for those who create simple trading rules. It is also one of the more stable (in my opinion) platforms iwhen it comes to automation. Powerlanguage used by Multicharts is very similar to that and stable as well. My suggestion is program your to...

I'm looking for a GOOD charting package... any ideas?

a charting package I like is Multicharts .NET and if you have high end screens, or 4K, this looks rather nice. We provide this charting package for free. It can be connected via CQG or Rithmic.

    alternatives to us index futures

You can consider foreign indicies like FDAX or MDAX (mini Dax) on the Eurex. Depending on your hours, you can also consider Osaka based Futures like Mini Nikkei 225 which is fairly liquid. Eurex is provided via Rithmic, CQG and CTS. Osaka Futures via CQG.

    Anyone using IB advisor account?

I would be more than happy to help with a set up of a block account if you are interested in trading Futures as part of your overall trading. We have a good back office for allocation and we provide the right trading software for it.

i'm a oil trader ill like to find a better trading platform.

Running two data feeds may at times slow down your execution as data from the exchange can consume quite a lot from your internet pipes. So the same problem you are trying to solve (stable data and low latency execution) is what would cause it by running two multiple feeds simultaneously.

    Best Futures/Broker Platform for ...

Just my 2 cents to add to this: Not all bracket orders are server side automatically. The use of the API depends on the third party software as well. For example, Rithmic over R-Trader Pro utilizes Bracket Server Side OCO, however the use of the API over a different platform may generate OCO...

Which trading platform do you use?

I think you should also consider Multicharts using the Powerlanguage code that is compatible with easy language. I only suggest that because I found the auto execution to be very stable.

Which trading platform do you use?

I would add some professional trading platforms to the list like TT, CQG and T4 for Futures. Also, many retail guys use Multicharts, and Sierra. You have a larger selection than listed here.

third party app to track net liq of account?

Are you looking for Options on Equities or Futures? I could do some research for you to help if it's Futures.

third party app to track net liq of account?

Sometimes you can use one platform for analytics, and one for execution. So rather than looking for an app you can use a stand alone platform that does provide a live P&L.

    Futures Options and Assignment

Yes, you could assigned a Futures contract long or short. You need to pay attention to the dates that the Futures contracts could be delivered. Weekly and end-of-month (EOM) options on ES Futures provide European-style expiration...Just as FYI in case you consider it.
