What are you setting up? Your screen name will become WallStCaddy if that company gets a buy-out offer!

    whats wrong with this strategy?

This might only confuse you but an option's delta relates to the behavior of the option at one point in time, not anything related to a trading system or market forecast. The likelihood of a market move is related to the delta, not the likelihood of a specific event happening. You keep saying...

CVS Pharmacy Direct Purchase Plan ??

Instead of participating in a monthly purchase plan, make an annual purchase in one of those share-builder plans. You can reduce the fees you pay and transactional paperwork. Better still, make a one-time $25,200 purchase of shares for him and let it ride until your grandson turns 21 years of...

    whats wrong with this strategy?

The flaw was that you appeared to assume that there was an equal chance, 50%, of either outcome happening. Not so. The delta of an option is it's responsiveness to price changes in its underlying contract. It can also be thought of as the likelihood of the option settling in-the-money at...

    whats wrong with this strategy?

    (1) You didn't have a well-defined exit strategy, especially if the trade turned into a loser. (2) Don't "leg into" a covered-call with the futures contract. (3) Offset the call option instead. Otherwise you'll more than likely increase your loss. (4) Don't refer to the trade as being a "deal"...

What MA do you choose for diffrent time frames?

I prefer a "1-period" moving average. It's the most accurate and responsive to price changes. You're also much less likely to be deceived by it.

    Future arbs

Big S&P versus eMini S&P when the pit is closed. Same with the Nasdaq contracts. You might be able to pick-off some orders. CBOT metals versus COMEX metals? CME Eurodollars versus SIMEX Eurodollars? E-Bay Metals versus the futures? Look into it.

What Futures are the best for intraday & trend-following traders?

    (1) Foreign Exchange Bucket Shop. (2) Almost none. (3) If you turn down the leverage, some opportunities will come up in the futures. (4) Volatility happens. If you trade enough, you'll find yourself in good and bad situations. Don't get destroyed by one huge loss.

Where can I find S&P or Stock Market annual returns? (year by year)

Try the obvious...............contact Standard & Poor's or Dow Jones.

CME CSI Housing futures & options

I thought this thread seemed familiar. The room was packed? Did they serve refreshments? Anyway, based upon those cities, you'd want to spread the fastest-growing markets against the slower-growing markets, i.e. (Long) Las Vegas & San Francisco versus (short) Chicago & Denver. Like I said...

    Vernal Equinox and market turns

How "accurate" was this before 2000? Is it riding a random streak of good luck?

I hope that you're correct and that your bursitis isn't acting up too much.

    Lumber

Oh God! Lumber. Somebody is actually interested in it. Let's see, if it opens lower tomorrow, buy it and then sell it at $330. That's all it's good for right now.

    Newbie Expiration Day Question

On an overall basis, zero percent. Those exercisable options, also known as "in-the-money options", are usually hedged elsewhere. Expiration days tend to be choppy and range-bound. We'll see what happens.

Market Profile and Fibonacci Time & Price Analysis

I prefer Market Profile. It's a more consistent way of anticipating breakouts and reversals. Take some time to grasp the basic components of it. With Fibonacci, I felt that there were too many arbitrary "number levels" to be concerned with. Go with the one you feel more comfortable with.

What are the assumed problems/market outcomes of account deficits?

The account deficit is a feedback mechanism. If it stops rising, you'll want to sell everything and hope for an October,1987-style meltdown. We'll see what happens.

    "greed"

    (1) Focus on protecting your money, not growing it. (2) Spend some time with a freaky Latin chick. (3) Strive to be consistently profitable, not perfectly profitable. (4) Develop a way to add-on to profitable positions. (5) Brush up on your Spanish language skills. (6) Pride yourself on...

    Jesse Livermore's trading

He's vastly over-rated. He made money, he lost it, he made money again, he lost it again, and again and again etc. The italicized stuff in the "Reminiscences" book is good but it shouldn't be associated with Livermore.
