Why Eurodollar are good bets right after disasters?

During a disaster scenario, there can be a perception that the FED will ease 25, 50 or maybe even 100 basis points. You'll have weak-handed shorts wanting to get out too.

    index futures - pricing

    (1) Regarding the "cash settlement" of the S&P-500 contracts, the clearing house credits the remaining profitable position holders via the realized and unrealized losses from the losing position holders. (2) Regarding the real estate contracts, one way to "protect" yourself is to have a wide...

    Science Advancements on trading

In your heart of hearts, you just know that if these geniuses formed a hedge fund, it would either be the next "LTCM" or correlate 100% to the S&P-500.

Why Eurodollar are good bets right after disasters?

You're here too! EuroDollars are a flight-to-quality instrument, especially the front months. It used to be T-Bills but they don't trade as actively.

    Predicting Crude using Intermarket Analysis

Your results may appear to be good because you used a "biased-optimal" time interval, i.e. the period you tested was very "trendy and friendly" to your method. You'll probably have different results if you test the mid & late 1980's and 1990's.

Anyone ever been a Commodities Broker???

Do the trade-clerk thing. Being a rookie broker without hardcore sales experience is a very hard and grueling road to take. Don't do it. With today's telephone technology, you'll only be able to talk to elderly people and people who don't speak English as a primary language.

bond market movements and yield curves / strength of dollar issues

You have to take into account the "excessive participation" of hedge funds in the bond market who are engaged in various types of trading that have an overall long-bias. It might take another LTCM-scenario to shake them out and restore a positive slope to the yield curve.
