Could the Mkt handle the next attack?

I advise caution on October 19, 2007 which is a very significant anniversary date for the stock market. The terrorists seem to appreciate the significance of certain dates.

RE: Bond rally and government interest payments

No, there are very few remaining callable bonds outstanding. They are pretty much all high coupon bonds and it is a foregone conclusion that they will all be called at their first call date. They are all priced to call, and have been priced to call for a long time. I can't recall off the...

    Capturing A Trend

This is one of the slimiest things I have ever seen! The stock drops and drops and just barely for a moment touches $7, and the company sells 2mm shares at $7/share to private investors!! Not only that, but they paid 8% to the company that "found" the investors. So they paid these guys...

AHG - Profitable Strategy for Struggling Traders

What do you mean by a multi day chart? I've got daily, weekly and monthly buttons. That weekly chart does make it look like the NQ had a long way to go. 38.2% is "only" 2689.50 BTW, here is an ultra scalper +> http://www.brooklynvegan.com/img/music/scalper.jpg

There was a lot of talk about "trend" this morning, and I see with interest that B1S2 has added to his long position with Spec07's blessing, but is anyone else bothered by the uptrend break in the daily chart? Captain Obvious (me) noticed this event in reviewing today's daily charts. :)...

AHG - Profitable Strategy for Struggling Traders

Thanks for that Tradestation indicator. I changed the mid lines from halfway between high and mid to .382 and .618. However, I am having a problem with the indicator in that it messes up the price axis on the right side of my chart. Anyone else see a problem here? Look carefully...

Anyone interested in using the ET Chatroom feature? We could create an AHG room to discuss market in realtime instead of (or in addition to) coming here after the bell.

    Bear Stearns' Bad Bet

I was just reading this last night. A lot of it got me, but the part that really really got me was this: What a way to run a fund!! You just buy crap, and mark it up every quarter and bingo! You too can produce 20% annual gains. The real beauty is that if you buy enough crap you...

    Doesn't anyone remember 2000?

    Here is a big difference between 2007 and 2000: % Gain in S&P 2000 -10.14% 1999 19.53% 1998 26.67% 1997 31.01% 1996 20.26% 1995 34.11% So, with perfect hindsight it was obvious that people were nuts in 2000 to think that the S&P could keep...
