    Shorting China stocks...

especially when shorting those bitches a little less risk.

anticipating the right move and still loosing money

    1) I like being able to get in or out of positions afterhours if needed and while I don't use stops overnight I do have a set up where if certain price levels are hit (in currencies, gold, and ES) then esignal sounds an alert through my stereo(some kind of freight train sounds that I think comes...

How high can the S&P go?

your performance was very impressive Friday but as you must realize not everyone can or wishes to day trade. I'm going to have a go Monday just for kicks though it has been a while. You must be a young fit guy to be able to keep that up day in day out. More power to you and may the best man...

anticipating the right move and still loosing money

Don't try and catch the top and bottom of ranges, just near the top and bottom. If you do infact keep getting stopped out of otherwise good trades then give yourself a bit more room, again don't put SL right at support and resistance but beyond so when the stops get run you are not taken out...

anticipating the right move and still loosing money

The part about holding for days is correct, often weeks. The part about "expert" is incorrect, very far from it.

anticipating the right move and still loosing money

leg in with a fraction of your full position. Scale in to a full position if it comes to it but be clear about when your hypothesis for the original trade is busted by market action and if that happens be diciplined about getting out, DON'T go in to HOPE mode or you will get skinned. Much of...

    Opinion on gold stocks?

I agree with the longs. I have been long 20 YG since 368 (as posted in ET weeks ago) and almost got stopped out on the recent pull back. I think $400+ is in the cards for this year and possibly as high as $425 briefly. I am thinking of adding to my position next week. The fact that the WB in all...

How high can the S&P go?

perspective alone (namely thinking that a top is in place for the year). I think your best bet is to continue doing what you have been doing which is to sell calls no more than one month till expiration in the 1040-1050 range. If the underlying approaches 1040 and you think 1040 is the high then...

    Pattern Daytrading Poll (Continued)

And PDT rule applying to buying options (likely to hedge a stock position to reduce loss), plain stupid.

How high can the S&P go?

you have to understand that Romeo's trades are high probability low profit trades (at least when he is selling out of the money calls, not sure of the thinking behind selling deep in the money puts). So he can call a short term top like he has been doing and as long as it holds for the few weeks...

How high can the S&P go?

Romeo has said he shorts options a month or less out so he is interested in near term tops. His call that you reference was right on for his timeframe.

    EGO CHALLENGE (26 Sept 2003)

I haven't been much of a day trader for a while, more of a longer term swing trader (currently Long 20 YG @368 & Short 50 NQ @1387 posted on ET weeks and days ago respectively) but count me in for Monday just for kicks. Very impressive performance by the two A's.

How high can the S&P go?

could be the beginning of the big break, maybe we break below 960 on Oct 3rd if Pabst has called it correctly.

How high can the S&P go?

Walter but this thread is about the SP not the bonds. As Pabst said Romeo has demonstrated a great feel for the market the last few months. Nice finish to the week, more to come next week it looks like. Going in to the weekend with a full short position and relatively comfortable doing so.

    s & P, h ow high? I ask, "How low?"

IMHO. If that doesn't hold all bets are off.
