    Fed Hike VOTE

I think you meant cut. About the only thing they hiked was the cost of food and gas.

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=newsarchive&sid=amTlqdkPVi0U Apple's Jobs Subpoenaed for Deposition by SEC  Just hit the headlines. No-- insider trading doesn't exist, that panic drop in late afternoon on large volume was just a random fluke.

Fears of dollar collapse as Saudis take fright

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/main.jhtml?xml=/money/2007/09/19/bcnsaudi119.xml Jim Rogers, the commodity king and former partner of George Soros, said the Federal Reserve was playing with fire by cutting rates so aggressively at a time when the dollar was already under pressure. The...

    Bear Stearns (BSC)

"Morgan Stanley 3Q Profit Tumbles 17 Pct" "...However, that still was not enough to beat Wall Street projections for a total profit of $1.54 per share ..." Barely a dent in the price. Yep, I think I know what you mean... Guess GS and BSC should provide more great news to lift the...

    Bear Stearns (BSC)

Predictions for tomorrow morning anyone? Earnings before open, so overnight holdings don't have much chance to avoid gap on major indices if it moves them. Market's signaling a bit of buyer's remorse here. Don't know if that is any kind of prelude to earnings tom... Looks pretty volatile on...

So what did we learn from the Fed decision?

Conservation of Wealth. Memorize this equation, it will help on many future exams.:D <img src="http://elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=1610159" border="0" alt=""><br /></font></p></font></p> Although, a little bit of buyers remorse after the following utterance, "Financial...

    new cycle of rate cuts

has begun... Said it several times in the past. I think Pa(b)st commented that fed telegraphs moves in advance. The discount rate cut was the biggest telegraph you could've ever hoped for. Discount and FF tend to move in same direction...

    this fed decision

I agree with your assessment, considering how tight that unresolved, pent up flag pennant has become over the last few weeks. Similar to the unresolved conflict in feb -- exploded in volatility that day. My best guess is 25 basis cut (conceivably 50, but doubtful). If they were to actually...

    liquidity cycle

Of the 65 Fed Fund Target Change events that occurred between 1990-Present, over 63% were followed by flat to positive changes in the S&P 500 7 closing days later. Note many positive returns occurred even when there were hikes of 25 basis points or greater. <img...

ugly head and shoulder on the SMH

It's there. But be careful to make sure it breaks through, or have a contingency plan before getting greedy. The fact that it's so obvious should bring caution. Sometimes H&S' (like any other pattern) just morph into another wave in the sea of patterns (like channel continuation, broad...

    crash indicator

Jobless claims does look like it could be a catalyst of sorts for tomorrow. And unlike payroll numbers, it actually looks (for the most part) negatively correlated to the market (as we would logically expect). Notice katrina disaster did actually zilch in the face of liquidity infusion (that...

There will be no Fed rate cut

I've implied this on another thread. But, my belief is a new cycle of rate cuts is beginning. And about the only thing I can add to that is rate cuts don't always stop a raging waterfall. The last recession showed us how futile that approach was.

    crash indicator

posted this about a week ago. That would be a miracle indicator if something big happened by tomorrow. Interesting to see how that flag consolidation is tightening up. What could make volatility explode either way? Rate cut? Bombshell? Gut feelings aren't very reliable, but if I had...

    Is AMZN a short now?

As tempting as it looks, if the QQQs decides to make a major run to the upside (and techs appear to be leading the rallies lately), expect amzn to lead the way by catapulting through that potential double top resistance. This stock is overvalued to the moon on fundamentals, however, short...

anyone here use an Apple I-MAC ?

apple is great. I use both systems. Apple G4 had bad problems with the fan cooling system, and it would make large bursts of noise (like an engine roar), because of problems with cooling the motorola chip. That's why they replaced the chips with intel by G5. Long story short, they...
