i'm no expert, but from what i gather, human market making is dead. computerized market making is stronger than ever.
btw, i', talking about exchange traded, liquid instruments.
so it only made $3 billion this quarter instead of $3+ billion. i think MSFT is going to be just fine. too bad for those 5,000 employees that the firm is laying off because $3 billion of profits per quarter is till not enough for Bill Gates. stock is up big today.
"And so we have a captive deposit base, we pay a competitive rate to the state treasurer. And I would bet that that would be one of the most difficult things to wrestle away from the private sectorâthose opportunities to bid on public funds."
what does this mean? can someone explain?
i'll say one thing. success is due to both hard work and luck, but the distribution is probably far more skewed towards luck than people think.
why? when people succeed, they believe that the reason is due to their own hard work. they tend not to see the extra help they may have received...
if you can't beat em join em?
upside:
- entire wall street = goldman sachs.
- all competitors either destroyed or on life support
downside:
- none! government will always bail GS out and do GS special favors
buy gs?
:D
the article says the bailouts are purposely designed so that they're too complex for most americans to see that they're bailouts.
unfortunately, most americans won't understand this article either. the style of writing is too "academic" and verbose.
oh i thought you won't get the final upgrade from the latest version to gold version.
are you saying you'll get the gold version when it's released, but no more upgrades after that?
why would someone buy multicharts right now instead of waiting for the gold version. my understanding is that the gold version will be released soon.
if somone buys right now, he will have to buy the gold version again or continue to use the current version which has bugs. correct?
I read on multicharts site that you get upgrades until the Gold version is released. why?
what will be the difference between the gold version and the final release of the regular multicharts?
when will the gold version be released?

100/1000 = 10%
after 6 months...
