    Great research calls

Are you being facetious, or do you actually regard that as an example of great research? I have no opinion on the company either way, although I find it difficult to "trust" being long stocks -- for long periods (6 months+) -- during a bear market that is yet, I believe, to reach a bottom...

    Nikkei Tanking

    I'm not sure what he's tried to do there. These are my calculations: Dow 1/15 - 61 Dow 1/03 - 8300 Annualized % return: 5.66 CPI 1/15 - 10.1 (Base 100 -- 1984) CPI 1/03 - 181.7 Annualized: 3.33% 5.66 - 3.33 = 2.33% pa 1915-2003 Add 4% dividend yield = 6.33%

Fast and cheap >1000 shares ??

These guys are just another of the payment-for-order-flow "online brokers" (glorified email) -- not actual direct access. Their name ("free") is obviously the first warning sign.

    Nikkei Tanking

Dt-waw, be aware that those numbers do not include the reinvestment of dividends, which, if I can remember correctly, have averaged slightly over 4% over that time period; which, of course, would significantly improve those returns. (But I give you an A+ for shock value!:) )

Nolan makes a great call re: monday's action

Sir, my sincerest apologies for not acknowledging your brilliance any earlier. By God, what an extraordinarily brilliant call. Simply stunning. Of course, upon the market fulfulling your prediction, I at once notified the WSJ, Barron's and Forbes about what occurred; you should be...

Poker question for the intelligent denizens of ET

Gentlemen (and Ladies, if there are any here), I have a question regarding poker hands for you. Any help with solving this puzzle will be most sincerely appreciated. From a deck of 52 cards, the total possible number of hands = 52!/[(52-5)!.5!] * or, in other words, C (52, 5) **...

    e-mini daily profit target

If it's an intraday system, you can backtest (and cautiously optimize) it on randomly selected months from the past few years. Use the other months for out of sample testing. I would concur with what others have said about 2.5 points/contract/day - it is ample profit.

    Connors' Windows Strategy, Don Miller

I just had a look at that TradingMarkets site that was talked about. I regard it as snake oil of the highest order. Utterly disgusting. How I would love to engage those hucksters in a public debate! Having said that, I agree with Tampa that most vendors have at least something of merit to...

    PDT rules have destroyed me.

LOL. You are still going. How in the world do you plan to ever develop such a system if you spend nine tenths of your waking hours bitching and whining about the unfairness of it all on these boards? Don't you think the members of ET have gotten the message loud and clear about your...

PDT killing you? why not futures?

If not futures, then join a professional firm. How has the obviousness of this alternative escaped you? If you join one of the 100% payout firms, you'll be asked (most likely) to put up at least $10k or so - well under the $30k (to stay above 25) for retail - and then trade your heart out...

Are American kids getting dumber by the year?

Cubano (que tal?), you've mentioned a few times the non-correlation of intelligence and a 'good life'. You are, no doubt, correct. I'm sure both you and I can think of countless examples of essentially skill-less immigrants that transformed their lives by their willingness to 'put their back...

Are American kids getting dumber by the year?

Astonishing ignorance. Here are a couple of more stats that I found particularly amusing: - only 25% of the Americans knew that the USA's population is between 150-350 million (the other answer options were 10-50, 500-750 and 1-2Bil !!) - and only 25% knew that China and India...

    PDT rules have destroyed me.

It's most likely because you have hardly done a thing to endear yourself to anybody at all. Nearly every post you have is a complaint about PDT. It just gets tiring after a while. What did you expect people to do? I might also add you that you don't appear too resourceful. There are...

    price pressure

It does discuss things like 'swinging a big line' - taking big positions - but it's not really applicable to your situation, where you need to have your purchases done in the next 10-20 minutes. Did I read you correctly with your original question? You want to purchase 2-3 million dollars...

    Immortality?!

Thunderbolt, are you actually writing all those posts yourself? Or are you just copying and pasting them from somewhere else? To be honest, having read through your 'discussions' (lol) with people here, you don't strike me as really being all that capable of maintaining a succinct two-way...
