Is it possible to consistently scalp the S&P

... anything is possible... but I haven't attempted.

    should I buy MSFT???

Better idea.... invest in sony, as it will sell better than Xbox 360, especially in japan. Microsoft is screwed, and the company is done for, these last attempts at desperation are all it. Once Google comes out with it's operating system, and crushes Microsoft for good..... what is left?

Thanks seth, I have all the respect in the world for the "old timers" who do this for career. I try my hardest to hopefully accomplish the same in the future. And your post is right on. Futures again, the reward is increased greatly, but the risk is mind blowing.

And yes, I'm a newbie trader, just as seth said...... and I have gotten my tail handed to me, and it has been some of the biggest tests of emotions and determination ever in my life, and just now have started to change things around. I know that there are so many people that just can't hack it...

Also one great suggestion that I just thought of. If you have never traded anything. Be sure to get yourself a simulator and trade. Do this for at least a few months. Some people argue that it is a completely different ball game once you start trading with live money, and I will admit, when...

Well, he asked if he "SHOULD" start swing trading... meaning he possibly has an intent to day-trade. Just making that clear.

Ok, I'm 18, and about to turn 19. First off, anything less than 30 to 40k, you are not going to be able to do trading of stocks. There are too many disadvantages. First off, you have to have 25k to daytrade. One rule that prevented me from being a stock trader. Second off, taxes on...

Quick insight as to how taxes work with Futures?

I was actually looking for explination as well, it's quite useless for me as I don't know what information to trust. I mean, I know I should be able to do taxes and stuff if I'm trading, but I really am clueless as to how it all works. So again, any information that is taken time to help...

Quick insight as to how taxes work with Futures?

I'm just in the search for a quick explination of how taxes work with Futures trading. I'm 18, about to turn 19, and never had to deal with taxes or anything of the sort, but I also don't want to get in trouble with the IRS either. If anyone has like an "overview" of what goes on with...

Do you see what I mean... split personality. How about we leave it at, I don't comment on your trading, you don't comment on mine. You have provided the most criticism to my trading on the forum. There is nothing more you can criticise that I can possibly benefit. I take criticism, and...

Well thank god I don't let any comments affect my trading, and I don't rely on the forums to make my trading better. I rely on experience to make myself better. Kinda like the saying "Practice makes perfect" Well it won't make anyone perfect, but it helps.

Hey Volente, is that trading chat room still going on. I have been in a few chat rooms on PalTalk with stock traders who are nice and share thoughts about stocks, but would like to hook up with a few of the members on ET in a chat. Just wondering.

I like NinjaTrader and TradeMaven, they allow you to set the stop and the proft, and that way my risk vs reward ratio is already defined. But I only use the profit order when scalping. Otherwise I just move the stop to protect my position. I've been reading up a lot about Risk vs. Reward...

Well Porgie, I guess a lot of people are stupid in your mind. I didn't say indicators are stupid. I respect people that use them. But they are not for me. Just as many people say Forex is not tradeable. You are the one with a closed mind, and won't think for yourself, so I pity you, and...

Depends on the entry, the risk vs. reward, and S&R lines that define the risk vs. reward. If I feel uncertain about a trade after I first execute it, I'll take profit immediately and scalp until a clearer picture is painted and I can react to it.

They aren't consistant every time. That is when I don't like the days. There are some days, (Especially last week), that the days just were less defined for support and resistance. So it was confusing. That is when ideally, I'd just like to execute 1 or 2 trades for the day and be done. My...

Ok.... well, what works for me, doesn't work for you. Works for Volente as well. So, I might not have an "edge", which I don't believe in, I guess people just made the "edge" up, but I know what I'm doing and can consistantly do it. "Edge" is only a word for "consistantly...
