whats the deal with open tick?

I can't say anything about the reliability, although the impression is that they are not bad for real time data, even if people complain. But I found something for the "what's in it for them" question: http://www.opentick.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=46 As I'm sure you may be aware, this...

    A must read WSJ article

Interesting answer. I think you are the first one who says something against it. It's weird how opinions change when someone is making money.

    A must read WSJ article

It's interesting. I read all the time about cutting losses, but I still have to see a comment about this part of the article: Housing remained strong, and the fund lost money. A concerned friend called, asking Mr. Paulson if he was going to cut his losses. No, "I'm adding" to the bet, he...

quant skills ( VAR, greek analysis?)

The penny turns indeed 180 degrees, but relative to the central penny. The other 180 degrees are given by the fact that the central penny is round, so the reference system is changing its direction

Why do traders fail: some random thoughts

Is there something wrong in trying to find out why things go in one specific way? Personally, I like to understand what is going on. Must be my mistake :)

    Anyone reads The Economist?

And definitely someone who know what he is talking about: One of the things that makes me nervous today is how cheap credit risk has become… The problem is, something can always happen that was in May 2006

Rome. The good weather can be pretty hot though. Especially in the last years. See, mark? That's what I mean :)

    Any trader From Italy?

That, as usual, depends on what you want. Many people like style, good weather, good food, history, arts and culture. You don't agree? Neither do I, but what can you do about it? After all, if people were all the same it would be boring :)

    Any trader From Italy?

Yes, I would say so. As I said, things do change, slowly.

    Any trader From Italy?

yes, yes, I know. Situation is bad, people are unhappy, politics sucks. But then people go home, they have their fancy dinner with good wine, they watch the serie A, and suddenly things are not so bad anymore. And if that politician, who has been investigated and even prosecuted, is elected...

    Any trader From Italy?

Now, this is an interesting subject. Although some people might not agree, church is made by men. This means that some are tough: http://blackmarketnews.blogspot.com/2007/07/naples-mafia-drives-priest-out-of-city.html and some aren't...

It's time to get rid of misconceptions in trading

I agree. I don't really know mensa, but I'm honestly not so sure that all the members are so smart. To me it sounds more like a bunch of nerds saying to each other "oh, we are so smart, the others aren't". Besides, IQ is not everything. "Emotional Intelligence" is a great book in that sense

    Any trader From Italy?

The problem is not the rule of law, but an entire cultural system that allows some things to happen, or even supports them. The Camorra is only part of it. A symptom, more than the real problem. Things will change. Slowly. For bad and for worse
