    BWEN - Broadwind Energy

My Etrade info page shows BWEN 74% institutionally owned with low turnover, and APWR only 30%. I like all the insider purchases on both these companies. I just learned about another wind energy company yesterday - AMSC - thinking of getting into that one down the road.

They held very steady through the week's volatility, so I went long 500 late yesterday at 26.35. We'll see what transpires.

Get The Hell Out: Part II

"For example, horrific news comes out and the market barely flinches might be another indication that it is time to go long." Yeah, go long the week of the news, then short the following week when some tiny straw breaks the camel's back.

Anybody in on the dry bulk shipping action? (DRYS)

Yeah, well today I'm all doji - buy POT at 216, or wait for 2:30 selloff? OK, that's a scary thought...

Anybody in on the dry bulk shipping action? (DRYS)

DRYS P/E is incredibly low, but their 2009 earnings estimates are lower than 2008. GNK and EXM have significantly higher estimates for 2009. For whatever long term earnings estimates are worth:eek:

Anybody in on the dry bulk shipping action? (DRYS)

I see CDS as a solid log term investment. I've traded them a lot in the past couple months, but I also maintain long positions of about 12,000 shares. They're fairly inexpensive right now, though pretty volatile from day to day. Their President just won Earnst & Young Florida Entrepreneur of the...

Anybody in on the dry bulk shipping action? (DRYS)

DRYS follow the market tightly. My earlier post said go long at 88-90 and short them 94-96. If you shorted them yesterday at 94, you'd have a nice gain today. I have puts sold on DRYS with a stop at break even in case they "tank" too far. If they stay above 85 2 more weeks, I'm good. V is...

did my first swing trade? 340 dollars profit.

Bad day traders follow rumors, fight the market, set no stop loss, use margin and set no stop loss (yikes), change their trading plan midstream. My one loss this week was from changing my trading plan midstream. I tightened a stop on a volatile stock and got taken out before it rebounded to a...

And there you have it - the 2:30 ET selloff. The chart and the market will tell you everything.

did my first swing trade? 340 dollars profit.

Every trader is a noob at some point. I started trading in February, got all excited and made a bunch of incredibly successful trades before my first big loss hit home when the market reversed. Then I read the books and took the seminars. Wrong order - start with education, then trade

Just stick with what's happening inside market, basically what you can see. I personally don't find level II useful for a whole lot other than for pinpointing pivot points during a selloff or rally. Charts are the best thing to watch. Check out the Market Guys candlestick chart seminar on Etrade...

Here you go (names and #'s been removed to protect the innocent) - CDS - 4 accounts - all trades entered and closed out between 4/1 and 5/19. You can pick up some shares at a great price today. They're presenting at two investor's conferences in a couple weeks. Last month when they presented...

did my first swing trade? 340 dollars profit.

I've traded one stock 6 times over the past 2 months for a net gain of $25,000, so you can definitely get a rhythm going, but set your stops diligently and stick to your plan. And if you're holding overnight, nothing is safe against a gap down.

Anybody in on the dry bulk shipping action? (DRYS)

Uh, because the market went from its record high in October (DRYS:high) to its record low in January (DRYS:low). You can't fight the market. That's what stops are for.

Yeah, that's the problem, can't find a good history on them. I've traded on technicals alone at times...

did my first swing trade? 340 dollars profit.

I just started trading 3 months ago and after the first messy month, I turned a ton of mistakes into profits after reading two books: The Market Guys Five Points for Trading Success and The Market Maker's Edge, both on Amazon. Follow the guidelines in these books to the tee, don't cheat and you...

    BWEN - Broadwind Energy

This one's looking solid as a rock. I thought about getting in at $20 a few days ago, next thing I know it's at $29. It's gained about 10% a day in a tanking market. I'm ready to climb aboard - anyone see a downside to this company, with wind energy the Potash of 2009??

ATLien, I'm LMAO. Level II's really scary during an institutional selloff. Should've seen HPQ the day they announced EDS acquisition; 100 blocks hit the market at once. I saw the pivot coming a mile away and made a 150% profit on call options.
